  1. I am from PA. I am in the USAF, previously stationed at Dover AFB, DE. I just moved to CO. We had a CITO and a fellow cacher whom I had been talking with via email while I was in Baghdad, was at the event. He gave me a geocoin that needs to get to PA, knowing that I was from PA. Is it against geocaching rules to send it to a fellow cacher in PA? If not, would someone volunteer? Also how would it get logged into a cache? Just some curious questions. If not, I am going to a geocaching campout and can give it to someone there. Thanks, Scott
  2. I think we need to put a list together who is going to bring what for the potluck. Do you need us to make caches or do you have some waiting to be placed there? Count us in for camping in your group with a tent. We should wagon train style it, tents in a circle with a fire in the middle. We will be bringing a travel bug to drop off or exchange and a geocoin trying to get to PA. I am so ready to go to this event. We can't wait to meet everyone and reunite with our friends caseydenise, whom we haven't seen since they left DE last year. We left DE 2 weeks ago and now live in CO. We are looking forward to having a good time. I should have leave on Friday, so we should be leaving Aurora nlt noon if all the packing goes well.
  3. Just wondering if anyone had seen these websites for volunteering to do things for CO outdoors. Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado and Colorado State Parks so we can do more activities together.
  4. Anyone interested (members of C.A.C.H.E.) want to adopt a highway? Rachael and I really enjoyed the Billzjeep CITO and would like to get involved more. Scott
  5. Magellan GPS 300. $50. I took my dad geocaching and got him interested. He purchased a Garmin eTrex Legend. Email me.
  6. I am closing this topic because I already stated that I am not going to log it. I was just curious if this was brought up before. I am not that selfish, just curious how something like that plays out. Thanks. Scott
  7. Did you mean you logged finds on it twice while doing maintenance? Most people would agree that that is not common practice... you posted notes, right? Of course I posted notes.
  8. Sounds good. I won't log it. Just wanted to be sure. I am a fair guy and have integrity. Just wanted to raise the flag on something like that. Thanks.
  9. It's just one that is close to home and I have logged it twice due to cache maintainence. It is not all about the numbers, but I have not seen this topic before and I was just curious since I am moving and had someone adopt it. I wanted to see how this was handled.
  10. Serious question, not knowing if it was brought up in the past: I was owner of a cache and had a fellow cacher adopt it because I am moving out of the area. Am I allowed to claim this as a find? If so, how (how would I log it on gc.com?)? I looked at caches in my local area and it shows that I have not found it. I know I could not log it as a find before because I was the owner. Now that I am not the owner, may I log it?
  11. Thanks to All. The wheels are in motion. Scott
  12. I am leaving Dover, DE and moving to Aurora, CO. Hart612 said he would adopt my cache, Tidbury Treasure. How can we get the ball rolling on this? Thanks.
  13. I have the Rino 120 and have been real close. You won't get an actual on the spot reading. I have had an accuracy of 8 ft consistently with it for awhile too.
  14. I had to send my Rino 120 to them to get fixed. I wiped out the software during an update. They fixed it and upgraded it too. Their service IS awesome!
  15. Isn't it neat to read old logs and see how we learned more overtime? I think it is. I am enjoying every minute of geocaching.
  16. It will be here before we know it. We can't wait. Did you see the Sax Man's Campout in NM on Memorial Day Weekend? We are thinking about going. We hope to attend your CITO as well.
  17. I have the 120 and the same accessories. The car adapter is not a charger. The Rino uses the car's power until you unplug it, then the batteries take over.
  18. I was in Iraq for 4 1/2 months or I would have a visited quite a few more caches. Finding a FTF is neat. You get to see the original contents.
  19. You beat me by about two weeks. Seems longer than a year to me, for some reason. When I think back to that guy out meandering around, stumbling over rock clods, cursing the hider, and all the while soiling my Nehru jacket and scuffing the soles of my platform shoes.....(uhh, I think I regressed a bit too far), anyway...seems a long time ago. - JamesJM I still curse the hider sometimes (lol), sometimes that last finder (hiding it back to well...jk), or the person who may have taken it for themselves...lol.
  20. Tomorrow, April 6, is my 1 year anniversary of geocaching. I logged my FTF early this morning also. If any of you live in the Delaware area, explore Redden State Forest. I got my wife going too. What a nice way to spend quality time with the one you love. Here is my FTF: Jester Loop
  21. Read this thread and try the solutions. Hope this helps. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=68046
  22. I have a good time too. I love going out and walking and exploring, regardless of a dnf.
  23. This is a very debatable topic. However, I can go both ways with this. If you have a few minutes to go find it and don't with plans on going back if you don't find it, then no dnf is needed. Extensive search, yes. I don't worry about the quick ones, but the long ones yes.
  24. Agreed. Like I said, the only way I log a DNF is if I am in question of if it is still there, such as a 1/1 cache that I searched everywhere for. It also depends when it was visited last, but then again, logging the DNF tells other users also that there might be a problem.
