  1. A year or so ago, I found 40 dollars in a ATM Machine - Just sitting there in the tray - I took it. I keep it. Maybe I should have left a "DID YOU FORGET SOMETHING?" POSTER on the outside bulliten board, but oh well.
  2. Ahhhhhh... Thanks. Thats much better. I should have figured that out. Off to do a couple oh caches... thanks again, mark
  3. OK. I have the Garmin Etrex vista. (updated firmware 3.6) If you go to the "Satellite" page, you get to see the satellites that are passing overhead, and the signal strength and all that stuff. Cool. BUT!?!?!? If you look closely there is a little dot (circle) that sits on the outer ring. It moves!!!!?! It does not represent North or a cardinal direction. WHAT THE HECK IS IT?????
  4. I think that a lot of the new phones have the GPS chip in them already Mine does and it is at least a year-old verizon phone. The chip is also used to help locate 911 emergency phone calls, assuming the dispatch center that you call has the technology, they can pinpoint your location and help "come and save you"... I do not have kids. And if I did, I hope that I would be able to locate them with the help of them being "honest".....lol...but we all know that is not going to happen. So tracking them will be great.. Of course, they will just give their phone to a friend or tie it to the dog as they go out partying somewhere else....cant win not matter what we do. I assume it will be a problem for those who cheat on their marriage too!!! mark wgs84
  5. Totally. I agree. Friends, and groups would be a great addition to my Watch List. mark wgs84
  6. I am trying to copy the Garmin US TOPO maps to my hard drive. I do not want to have to leave the CD in the tray (also, I do not want to have to bring my bottom half of my laptop with me -AKA the CD DRIVE) So, I am basically trying to copy something like the western US to my computer. I can do it with the Mapsource MetroGuide with no problem. All of the US MetroGuide is on my computer, and it is great to not have to worry about some disk when I want to copy maps, waypoints, routes, to my GPS when I want to. During the installation of the TOPO program, it does not give me an option of FULL INSTALLATION. It just says something like "Standard Installation"
