  1. I drive a route truck and travel about 800 miles each week... i'm in a different area every day but every week my days I'm in the same area (monday hurlock, tuesday easton, wednesday ocean city, thursday chestertown, friday harbeson). Soooo for ME maintaining a cache in those areas would be EASY for ME. As for defacing the phone book... around HERE>.... most phone books have been removed or destroyed for whatever reason... it is POSSIBLE.... the cache owner SUPPLIED the phone book. My wife and I are foster parents... and there is a paralell to foster parenting and geocaching.... each child's case is different and specific to that child... in caching... each cache is specific to the cacher and the area...
  2. there is a cacher in my area... we are allll jealous of... he works for a communications company.... he drives around all day in a big black truck and at least 2 GPS' in his possession. He also has a laptop on board... enabled with a wireless internet card (verizon?)... he gets INSTANT notifications and is usually close by or passing by shortly after a cache posts.... siiiiight... my kinda job
  3. I too have pondered making my OWN tombstone be a geocache... a chinese puzzle box of sorts...
  4. JB Weld... it is a 2 part epoxy that you mix in equal amounts and apply to whatever you want to attach to ... whatever... it is AWESOME!
  5. "You tried to pay for a soda at the KwikMart with a geocoin Sounds like we need another Geocacher Anonymous meeting!" Soooo don't you get those nifty little "Cacher's Anonymous" coins if you join up...? Secondly... can you use those coins AS a geocoin ?
  6. one guy in my area works for a telecommunications company... He gets to drive alllllll over Delmarva... His truck is equipped with a GPS AND a laptop with the verizon wireless card. I JUST got my first FTF Tuesday and another new one popped up less than a quarter mile from where I work. I didn't have my GPS with me and stopped by. Saw the area had about a MILLION places for the cache to be hidden. I went home to get my GPS and returned to see his truck sitting near ground 0. He saw me and had a HUGE grin on his face. I knew FTF was gone... it was just the luck of the draw. I went out for one that JUST posted ( I had just refreshed my page and there it was) I was there in 10 minutes... I searched EVERYWHERE... for almost an hour... got NOTHING. Returned home and went to bed. Woke up first thing in the morning and checked the posts... 3 finds. I returned a few days later and REchecked the lamp post skirting... and there it was clear as day. It was NOT there when I first went. I have a hunch that a cacher had already nabbed it and was WAITING to replace it as I was searching.
  7. I admit that I am an all about the numbers cacher. just look, i have 250 finds and have yet to place one. I thank those who have placed a cache. yet being a numbers cacher I am absolutely a true geocacher. While I like my numbers to groooowwww.... part of ADDING to the game is hiding your own caches. It helps those whose caches helped your numbers grow, grow theirs too.
  8. I would take a burned disc if it had a list of songs with it... as far as a VIRUS goes... your CD player can't get a virus.... just a thought
