  1. Please remember: There are still some people who really loves Geocaching but it's just a hobby for them. So they have only limited time to spend for it. For me it's impossible to check all the inconclusive threads in this case regularly. I personally prefer to hide and maintain own caches and sometimes to seek some caches hidden by other guys. My question was/is very simple: When will new locationless caches be approved again? That's what I wanna know already for more than a year. Roger (from Germany)
  2. Some news in case of approving new locationless caches? Regards, Roger
  3. I can confirm that. Too bad. I made a post for that reason already last year, but it seems to be still the same story. As far as I remember this problem was launched then. Regards, Roger (from Germany)
  4. Its not only the typos. A few hours ago somebody posted a potential spoiler while logging another cache of us. He was unable to remove that one unless writing a complete new log and deleting the old one. Does this make any sense??? Regards, Roger
  5. What is the intention of this change? I personally prefer to be able editing a log at least a day later... Regards Roger (from Germany)
  6. Thanx for this link - I didn't found that. Although I was looking for it. But it's a pity. Such a long time. Maybe there are a lot of guys they'll find a new hip hobby until the middle of next year... Schatztaucher
  7. Hi! I had a unique idea about a special locationless/reverse virtual cache and tried to report this cache, but unfortunately it wasn't accepted. So I had again a look into the guidelines for reporting geocaches. There is still written: ''There is currently a moratorium on locationless caches. No caches will be approved until functionality is available to better serve this unique category." But my question is: When finally will this functionality be available? I can't wait anymore... 8. Recently I realized that the restriction of 100 KByte is still present when I want upload images for an own cache. Possibly it's the same when handling Travel Bugs? Schatztaucher
  9. Thank you! But the thumbnails for portrait images are still just a part of the whole picture... Schatztaucher from Germany
  10. Hi! Since a few months I'm a big fan of geocaching. I log all my own hidden (more than 15!) and found caches at www.geocaching.com. I prefer that portal! In the last time a lot has changed, e.g. page design. Most of that changes were enhancements but some things a not really nice! Here some examples: the maps: - in former times the Mapblast system was advised as best - but now you advise the Microsoft maps - the problem is that the maps from this source are not detailed outside the United States (e.g. here in Europe) the picture overview on cache logs: - previously all pictures were accepted when not bigger than 100 KByte independently from its width or height - but now the are resized to 600 pixel width so that is impossible to leave detailed pictures in the log (even my cell phone make better pictures!) - the resize procedure is independently from its height, that means that portrait images can be twice or more in size than landscape - also the portrait pictures are not shown completely in this overview table (it's only a middle part of the picture) Maybe somebody at the team of www.geocaching.com find time and a way to make it better. I felt a mood by a lot german geocachers that they don't like what you do now! I hope a way to keep them using www.geocaching.com will be find timely. I also heard that some people are working on alternative portals for geocaching. That can't be desirable. One system for all geocachers worldwide would be the best. I hope the best!
