  1. The builder descriptions for characters etc, supports embedded quotes. I just created a character and in the description, I copied and pasted the above description (without the escape characters). If you look at the lua code that the builder generates, descriptions are wrapped with [[ ]]. This block quote allows for characters to be included inside. So, the description looks like this: zcharacterChar.Description=[[standing in the corner of the room is your assistant. A tall fellow by the name of Ellsworth, he's been with you for a few years now. "Always happy to help," he often repeats. ]] If you created the description without the builder and didn't wrap it with the block quotes[[]], then the builder will blow up with a lua parsing error. David.
  2. I've entered this as a feature request. David
  3. I have installed that version but now any of my Cartridges are not opening at all? I have windows Vista Home basic OS. I get error message which says:System.Dllexception Zones engine.dll cannot load..."? What is wrong now? Earlier versions worked well. What is workaround? Try completely uninstall the builder via the Add/Remove Programs. Then, install. If you still get the error message, please include the details. David.
  4. Oleg, I'll check this out on the latest versions. David. This is now fixed in the 4/18/08 release just posted for both the emulator and player. David.
  5. EDIT: This is fixed in 4/18/08 release today. Good catch, 1/2 of this was fixed, I'll fix this half and post an update today. Thanks. David

  7. Well I'm trying to install it on a brand new Ipaq 214 (vga screen) From reading this forum it seems that there is a problem with the graphics if I ever get that far. So far the installation reports a successful installation but whenever I try to run it I just get an OutofMemoryException I'll be really disapointed if I can't play along on my new toy! HELP! Cheers Dave Fixed in the latest player download. David.
  8. What is the program? I'd like to check it out. David.
  9. A fix has been posted to the web site for VGA devices. You should be able to load the application now. We are aware that the app does not display correctly for vga devices. There is work to do to optimize the UI for the VGA device resolution. David
  10. A fix has been posted to the web site. If you download and install the player application, it will load correctly on VGA devices. David.
  11. There is a problem loading the app on vga devices. I'm working on a fix and should have an update soon. The vga devices run with a 192 DPI as opposed to 96 DPI. The new map feature causes the problem. I'll have a fix posted shortly David
  12. There is a problem on the VGA devices. I'm looking at this right now and will have a fix shortly. It has to do with the fact that the PPC VGA devices have a dpi of 192 instead of 96. This caused the memory problem. David.
  13. What's changed in the version from the 4th on is when zones show up in the list or not. I know there is some discussion about this in past forums entries. That could be it. David
  14. Sorry, forgot to mention that in the readme notes. The red means that the zone was selected on the previous screen. David.
  15. Here's a reference to creating this config file: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=188981 David
  16. Hi, We're looking into this. Basically, we have to enable the emulator to work in 2 modes. One would be position input from the google map on the left side of the screen, the other would be from gps input. This is on the list of things to do. David.
  17. I too have just found a similar problem. At the end of the cartridge I want to show 6 items, each containing a digit which will be used to enter into a GPS as the lowest digits for both lat and long. However, it appears that there is a limit of 5 items that can be displayed. I'll have a look at this. It sounds like when items are moved to a new location that they are not able to be found and displayed on the PPC. David.
  18. This error usually means that the gps device is being used and therefore locked by another application. David.
  19. That is correct. This error is thrown when the Lua engine cannot properly parse a file. It's the first thing the builder program does before trying to parse the functions. A "DoFile" is a lua call and then the builder program manually parses the functions. David
  20. This has been logged and will be looked at for the next batch of fixes. David
  21. I'll log that as a bug, it should allow any valid integer value. It's a numeric dropdown and still had the default value. David
  22. hi, fully uninstall the builder and reinstall from the website. David
  23. The Status Text is not implemented on the Garmin device. David.
  24. This is fixed in the version of the Player install that is on the site now: 04.04.2008 2.0.5004.4972. David.

    Error

Sorry about that, we caught this error yesterday. Please do the following: 1. download the latest player install from the web site 2. Remove the player application from the device by choosing Settings->System->Remove Programs 3. Go to the File Explorer and navigate to My Device\Program Files. You'll see a Groundspeak folder, delete that folder. 4. Install the newly downloaded player Again, sorry about that, it was a very specific instance that caused this error and it is now fixed. David.
