  1. WOOT! Facebook is the winner! Adoption request sent and I can relax. Thank you for the fabulous ideas!!
  2. I thought about that, but in ten years it's had 64ish hits? So...it could be another year before someone sees it? I've posted in facebook group and I'll update the cache page just to cover all bases. Thanks!!
  3. Good idea, I noticed that it was kind of quiet in here. Thank you!!
  4. Sadly, I have not geocached in awhile (really need to fix that) and have just completed my move from Michigan to California. In all the chaos I neglected to remember I still own a cache that while not overly active people seem to like it and it just hit it's 10th anniversary. This is south of Traverse City off of a seasonal road that isn't accessible in the winter unless by snowmobile. https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC144C5_twin-lake There is an ammo can and reports show that it is in good shape. If nothing else, I have zero issues with someone grabbing the ammo can and letting me know so I can deactivate the cache. Free caching supplies! Thank you!!
  5. I've not released my second and third coin and traveler since my first ever coin went missing with the first person that picked it up. I'm still holding out hope though, I've emailed them twice and perhaps life has just gotten away from them and someday my coin shall move on. Just...ow, my first ever and it's AWOL with the first person to grab it.
  6. Personally, I prefer to wear clothes and so do the people I cache with. Ok...for the real answer it depends on the cache. Woods = hiking boots and pants etc, Urban = anything else. I don't do disguises or make up some huge story as to what we're doing. I was staring up into a tree once and a lady walked by asking if I was looking for hummingbirds. I just nodded and said, yeah...something like that. She left and didn't give me any grief. The popo didn't show up and I found the cache. Yay! Now, if the popo does show up or if someone gets upset about what you're doing you just remain calm and tell the truth. I just don't understand the big hairy deal. (sorry...was looking at nudecachers pics and got distracted)
  7. These jeep bugs are issued once a year as part of a photo contest (US only). When a new contest starts you can request to try to be issued one of a set number of jeeps. Fun photos, international angst, new icon for your stat page. I was a bit perturbed when mine went missing into Canada. Oh well...I figure someone really had a burning desire to own a small red Jeep. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...ee-75b68698dc20
  8. Mike, were those taken in Newberry by chance? If so, I took the kids there this past fall and had the same experience with the cubs. What a great time and an impressive set up. Been meaning to post here and tell you hi...recognize you from the jeep boards, I just operate under a different nick here. If you're up our way and want to do some team caching, we 're game! Laurel (Mudmomma on gl4x4)
  9. I can't wait until Spring! I am placing a micro ( I know, I know!) in the woods. I picked up a fake lily pad at Michaels complete with water droplets on it, going to find myself a pond (not hard around here) and sit back and watch the fun.
  10. Chiming in with my love for the Sam's Club shoes. I had 3 pair to buy this year for Christmas presents and bought according to weight for the kids etc and they are really easy to use. I needed something I could throw on to find those caches out in the woods and then toss in the back of the Jeep AND they had to fit my restricted budget.
  11. Just yesterday we found two unopened condoms in a cache and certain portions of the male anatomy drawn in the log. I'm happy to report that we were able to remove the objectionable items without needing to stab our eyes out or suffering long lasting ill effects.
  12. I work for a bank. You should see the looks I get trying to hike up a skirt and climb into mine (lifted on bigger tires)!
  13. 2002 TJ, 2" coil spacers (Rubicon Express) custom steel bumpers with a swing away, 31" BFG A/T's and a 12,000 mile marker. (I know, overkill but the price was right)
  14. 2002 Wrangler. 2" coil spacers, custom steel bumpers with swing away and a 12,000 mile marker winch. (I know..over kill but the price was right) 31" BFG AT's. Love my Jeep!
