  3. Ricky's is at N 44° 17.240 W 078° 19.698 We usually meet about 8.30am. See you there. Murfster
  4. I am looking forward to being there. I'll bring my spy detection kit and decoder ring! Murfster
  5. Another tale to add to the collection.. On our way back from Toronto Christmas day we had time to do a few finds.. good time eh with no one about on a holiday evening. So as I'm reaching to get the cache I hear " What are you doing there?" Well.. this young security guard some how spotted the only car in the most remote part of the parking lot in the dark and decided it must be a plot. I explained the game.. he wasn't listening.. "your on private property conducting yourself in a suspicious manor and I want you to leave!" I so fear a few incidents like this will affect this great game. Lesson... I think sometimes we are better in a big group of muggles.
  6. It is called QR code if we are talking about the same thing. http://qrcode.kaywa.com/
  7. There were a lot of cachers with huge counts I had never heard of. I think I may buy a copy. It will be an interesting historical perspective in another 10 years.

    FTF Magazine

I have ordered it. I can read it and pass it along! There is another one coming out in October. It was tried before and is being reborn. I posted a note as well about a newish book " The Joy of Geocaching" http://joyofgeocaching.com/ which I enjoyed. So many interesting adventures and angles to this game. Murfster
  9. I will have to go to the public library and see if they have it...... thanks If they don't they can easily get it through inter library loan.. ya just have to tell them you want it. I have really enjoyed the people aspect of it as well... some astounding stories.
  10. I Picked up a "new" book at the local Public Library call "The Joy of Geocaching". Some funny stories.. a quick simple read and it is free! http://joyofgeocaching.com/ Murfster
  11. OH OH!! can only be one place at a time. COG is local for me. What are the other area's to watch? M
  12. You are the 4th and I have been lucky enough to have been to them all. Not sure how long I'll be able to say that!

  14. I used the trail maps at Tiffin over the weekend at the COG Spring Fling, was that ever handy!! Thanks!!! Murfster
  15. It was an awesome event. Thanks to the organizers, and Tifffin. If 500+ came out in the rain, how many would show up on a sunny day!! I'm allready looking forward to next year! Murfster
  16. The reviewer event is full, but the other 2 are not so much! If someone would like to hold another Apres talk to us! Right now the Fling crew isn't really interfering in the matters of the Apres events Ok thanks! Perhaps someone who knows Barrie will jump into the breach. I'll keep an eye on the website for details.
  17. Last year there were about 5 "aprez" events. This year I see three. Meet the Reviewers is full, There is one other one in Barrie and one 50 K away in Aliston. With so many cachers are any others planned closer to Barrie, or a bigger venue for one of the "aprez" events??
  18. We hope to see as much of the island as we can. North to South, East to West. We have a car and 12 days! Not a lot of time, and it will not all be about geocaching! Thanks for the link. M
  19. Does anyone know of any free Europe maps. It seems silly to spend big bucks for a two or three week vacation. If only you could buy the maps in smaller sections .. sort of a pay as you go. I'm sure there is a market. Murfster
  20. I'm looking at a trip to Newfoundland in a few weeks and wanted to know what are the "best" and "must do" caches on the island? A seach tells me there are just over 2500 and I'd like to narrow that down a bit. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Murfster
