Ok, Just when I thought I had it all figured out. I've got the Meridian Color, a 256 SD card, and the USB writer/reader. I installed Topo, and then did the update to 4.2... everything went smoothly. When I first got the card, I put it in the GPS< and did the format. It showed as 253-4ish meg... Now, today I selected a region, that is 11719Kb in size (basically the NJ/NY metro area... down to South Jersey. I did the upload via SD reader, etc. Popped the card back in my GPS, and I'm being told the card is 99% full... (or something to that effect). Is there a place that I could read step-by-step what I'm suppose to be doing, or what I'm doing wrong? I'd like to put more region in, etc. and have the thing all set up. Guys, go to froogle.com -- That's how I found hi tech essentials... they had my Meridian Color for $311 total after the rebate. It's a steal! And they really shipped it. I figured it was a scam, but they did as they promised! Good Luck, Pete

Got my case today. Pretty nice. Not sure how I feel about the Velcro at the bottom. But being able to have it in the Neoprene is very nice. Once the clear film comes in to put on the display... that'll be very good... Let me know if anyone else got there's and what YOU think of it... Pete

Hi, I've got an older: Radio Shack 5 hr Ni-Cd/Ni-MH Charger. I've been using it with some AA Ni-MH 1200mAh batteries. I'm interested in picking up some 2000mAh batteries... can I use the same charger? Stunod... That's a really cool idea! I think that's what I'll do! I ended up with the 256Meg card and the reader for $77... I couldn't beat it. I know in another couple months the 512 will be cheap. But now I've got everything on the way... Very happy. Pete

Thanks... 80 % of the time it'll be in the car on the 12V hookup and swivil mount. The other 20% of the time it'll be on batteries... so either way... I'm not too worried about it... but I was just curious. As for the SportTrak Color... That was my big "thing" -- I was going to wait for it. Yes, the display seems better, but with no memory card ability... that's sorta killed it for me... Thanks again, Pete

So I'm getting to know my Meridian Color -- and don't get me wrong, I love it. But I HAVE to ask. When are you suppose to be able to use it with the backlight NOT on the medium or high setting (there is OFF, Medium, and High)... Seems to me that there is no possible application for it when it is OFF. Or do I just not have enough experience with it? Thanks, Pete

Cracker... I feel better about buying them then! They're on the way, along with the Neoprene case. Now all I have to do is grab the MapSend (I think I'm going with the Topo... I have no real need for the "places of interest"... and a SD card. The 512 card is soooo much more money than the 256 card... I'm on the fence. On what to do... If anyone else has a need for some of these screen covers... let me know we can work something out. Pete

I'm looking at the MapSend Streets & Destinations (US) and the Mapsend Topo (US). Am I understanding this right? The Topo has the same exact street info as the Streets & Destinations CD? Only you are basically trading the "Destinations" part for the "Topography" part? The Magellan site doesn't really explain this... If anyone know the actual real difference, that would be a big help before I order. Thanks, Pete
