  1. I agree with Remote Part. Copyright laws allow for what is called the "fair use doctrine (US)" or "fair dealing (UK)"... UK Copyright Service US Copyright Office Amazon has a commercial licence to provide snippets and is outside the "fair use" provisions. Snippets of 30 seconds or less are considered "fair use" for non commercial purposes so I wouldn't worry - in the extremely unlikely event of the copyright holders objecting just remove the offending material. There's quite an interesting copyright battle involving Google at the moment relating to its Book Library Project which provides snippets of in-copyright books .... Google 1 Copyright Holders 0 Cheers! Seasider
  2. There is an easy way: just paste the text to be encrypted/decrypted into Rot13.com Because of the self-inverse nature of the Caesar-cypher, the procedure for decryption is identical to that for encryption. Nice one Mr F! Cheers! Seasider
  3. Brilliant! Many thanks to SUp3rFM & Cruella & Paul Tanner for sending invites. I will use both as I can use one gmail account for my website. Cheers! Seasider
  4. Any left?!! seasidergps(at)yahoo.co.uk or even better to my regular address for anyone that knows it. Thankyou kindly! Cheers! Seasider
  5. This is fascinating stuff. According to this page (if correct) even the banks don't now observe Scottish bank holidays but follow the English ones instead (bottom paragraph)! Cheers! Seasider
  6. Unlucky! I only heard when a scottish lady who cleans for my incapacitated mother said she would not be paying her regular Monday visit on Aug 7th as it was a bank holiday and she would be back up north. So some of her relatives must have been off as well (she is from Dumfries area). Do you get Easter Monday off? Cheers! Seasider
  7. Very sad indeed bearing in mind the special location of that one. Cheers! Seasider
  8. Well - Molinnis Crew, Plymplodders and Wadders equalled the record last week but I can't seem to remember who set it earlier in the year...! :) Cheers! Seasider
  9. Congrats to the Dodgy Bloke from Sunninghill on his 600th cache! Cheers! Seasider
  10. Bank Holiday, isn't one here in Perth?? There isn't one in the whole of Scotland, but as our mods live in England, and I also think Wales, the OP's question about the bank holiday is a valid one. What our friends from over the border neglect to tell us is that they had their August bank holiday 3 weeks ago when all in England & Wales were working hard! Cheers! Seasider
  11. Yup, that's the other way to do it. Congrats on 2000 threads BTW HH! Cheers! Seasider
  12. Nice one! Unable to attend but look forward to reading the reports! Cheers! Seasider
  13. Looks like Rutson is busy finishing his much anticipated GSAK script! Cheers! Seasider
  14. Nowhere near at either end personally speaking but from earlier threads I think the oldest cachers are The Snails who are 81 & 73 respectively! The Xbox Xplorers might be the youngest and have over 500 caches to their name! Cheers! Seasider
  15. There isn't a separate graveyard for geocoins so they can be laid to rest alongside the TBs. Cheers! Seasider
  16. Excellent - look forward to it. Cheers! Seasider
  17. I'm curious now - I asked one of my neighbours who works at the National Space Centre to get that answer. They didn't think there was a third one, except for Russia who are racing to beat everyone Seems the NSC is a bit behind the curve. There is no official policy by the Russia Government to go to the moon. Your friend is referring to a company called RKKE which announced it would like to build a lunar base if Mr Putin would give them the money! Still one country missing. I'll give you a clue. Their inaugral mission (unmanned) is due for launch in early 2008 and will be called Chandrayaan-1. Cheers! Seasider India? (Plus Japan & China from previous answers) Correct! India have plans for a manned mission. They announced in 2004 a target date of 2015 which was then revised to 2025 and is subject to the performance of their robotic missions (and cash). Sorry had amended above to give the next question to Alice Band but over to you. Cheers! Seasider
  18. See below - edited to give next question to Alice Band as their answer was close enough but MartyBartfast beat me to it! Cheers! Seasider
  19. OK. Keeping with the space theme of the last few questions ... Five "nations" are currently planning manned lunar missions for the first quarter of the 21st century. Two of the would be protagonists are obvious - NASA and ESA (European Space Agency) who plan to land independent missions in 2018. The three other nations plan to land circa 2025 - who are they? Cheers! Seasider
  20. Pity it isn't Anna Span she works for or you'd be really grinning! Cheers! Seasider
  21. Beats me but I do have one within a mile.... this one is 0.994 of a mile according to my gadget. Cheers! Seasider
  22. The quest is but a pale imitation of the original! Ironbridge is far too easy these days and originally took at least two hours and a couple of slides down the 100ft sheer embankment before you stumbled upon the cache thanks to the dodgy clue! Heywood Hornet and I still have the mud stains to prove it! Cheers! Seasider
  23. Congrats!! Fantastic achievement! I agree with P&T that the "most in a month" record refers to a calendar month rather than 31 continous days so if it is agreed to change it then to be fair to Volvoman we need to recount his total. Cheers! Seasider
