  1. Just found this thread and I have to say how much I'm enjoying it! I have ospreys roosting in my neighborhood and they've come back for the 5th year straight. We've become bird watchers because of them We've always wished we had a webcam to be able to watch them, so we get to live vicariously through this. FWIW, we live in the Seattle area and have nicknamed them "Hassle" and "Becky" after the Seahawks QB (we thought it was approporiate) we tend to name the young'un every year after the rookies
  2. Ok, this is starting to make a little more sense. Firstly, I'm new. I was under the impression that you could make ANYTHING a "travel bug" as long as it had a destination goal. I'm a professional artist. I etch art into granite, so I etched a small fragment of black polihed granite with an inscription about it's destination on the back. Didn't realize I had to activate it or purchase a kit of any kind first. Sorry ... should've investigated first. I plan on retrieving it tomorrow. Thanks for the help. - Angelo Please tell me yu took a picture of this! I would love to see it (and maybe have you make me a "bug" to attach to my TB!)
  3. OMG!! I so want these! My husband and I are really getting into birds. THese are gorgeous! I'd like one of each set that would be available, please I'm new to coins, so I don;t have any to trade
  4. I'm up for two of each, but I'm new and have nothing to swap One of my coworkers (who got me into caching) LOVES FSM and I'd love to get him one for the holidays!
  5. Just ordered some as gifts for gamer geocaching friends! (and one for my self)
  6. WHY did I look at this? Heck, WHY???? did I look at this forum? Just ordered my first two geocoins... help...
  7. D'oh! How did that forum get there? I swear it went out for coffee when I was looking around and just came back. Maybe I am the one who needs the coffee. (up reading the forum till the wee hours trying to learn)
  8. Hi all! Over enthusiastic newbie here. I've been trying to figure out how to download WP info to my GPS (a Garmin Legend CX). I went to the page that had the software download info and tried GPS Connect for the mac. The instructions are so old they talk about USB adapters and are dated 2003. I tried for about half an hour I can't get the darn thing to work. Can anyone point me towards some other software that lets me use .gpx or .loc files? I'm getting tired of typing in everything by hand and being slightly dyslexic (sent hubby to the wrong side of the park the other day), this will help A LOT. TIA
  9. This sounds like a lot of fun and I *really* want to come, but I am a total newbie and not familiar with the area. Am I going to be in way over my head? **worries**
  10. **raises hand** I want to come but I am a total newbie (as in three days, seven caches new) so I'll need a team. Mr. Brumbjorn is a crack puzzle solver but will no tbe coming -- he will be at the national puzzler's league (www.puzzlers.org) convention that weekend, but reachable by phone. Any room on a team for a newbie with a shiny-i-havent-dropped-it-yet new GPS?
  11. **raises hand** another newbie here! I'm only on day two of geocaching (found three!) and am having a blast. Too bad day 1 did not go as well. The cache we went after yesterday was a small one. The hint on the cache literally (and I TRULY mean literally) tells you where it is and we found the spot, but there was no cache. The notes in the cache log tell you that there have been transients in the area and it has been moved. Id it OK to email the person who hid it ask if I had the right spot or if the clue is out of date? I'm 99.9 percent sure we had the right spot and I'm afraid the cache has gone missing.
