  1. g.i.s. Lately there are about 40 caches "missing" when I run a query for my found caches. I remember some of them, but can't find them when looking in the area where they are supposed to be.
  2. Click Here to read GDA's response to the recall.
  3. You can install MapSource on as many computers as you like and use the Unlock Code that you have. MapSource will only "talk" to that unlocked handset when it comes to transferring information. Visit http://www.garmap.co.za/forum/default.asp where you will always find expert advice on Garmap matters.
  4. Good news, Leon. Any idea if it will cover most of South Africa? I had a bit of a funny response when I mentioned about a year ago somewhere else that I picked up WAAS in the Hartbeespoort area......
  5. Yes, you have to buy Unlocking Codes as usual. Go HERE for pricing structure.

  7. Ja, en daar staan 'n hele sak vol vir jou en wag......... Laat weet of jy my e-pos gekry het.
  8. Hi Tusk 0'2 Long Time No See......... Groetnis
  9. Hi, Take a look HERE and see if this meets your needs.
  10. Check out this thread and read what GlobalRat wrote on 21st Sep.
  11. Yep, in the past all the entries in "states" were "nil", now some are "none". Something not working as it should.
  12. Neville, I paid by Credit Card. That facility not available anymore?
  13. A friend gave me the following number, +27 (46) 624 4564, that you can try for some directions.
  14. Yep, can only concur with the above. I've also battled for months with an ISP that claimed they're not blocking posts from Geocaching.com Changed my ISP and has been living happily ever after.
  15. When you create a Pocket Query you are limited to the first 500 waypoints in that query, hence I've always used more than one query. (Which will obviously overlap.) So, I would also like to hear comments on your question.
  16. Nope, what the others said holds true. You will have to upload to a server first. You can then either link to it, or insert it.
  17. Neville, GlobalRat and Bear & Fox said it all, but may I be as forward as to enquire as to WHAT you had in mind? What do you want to attach and why?
  18. Original Can of Beans Take a look Here for some info on OCB. Enjoy
  19. Hi The Free State is fairly big. If you submit a few towns we can be of help. There are a number of caches around Koppies, Sasolburg, Deneysville and Parys here in the northern part. Also indicate, more or less, the distance that you would be prepared to travel around each town.
  20. It should work - no reason why it shouldn't. Refer to Meca DIY. If you look at all the logs, not only the last few, you'll see that most cachers keep to the theme, or just TNLNSL if they do not have something appropriate. See you there.. Happy Hunting.
  21. Firstly, a lot of muggles can't read. And if they do, they probably don't understand the hi-tech language. It's not only Marmite Mugglers, there are an increasing number of Milky Bars that don't know the difference between a cell phone and an eTrex Legend C. I've often used my eTrex to pretend that I'm busy with a call.. Eventually we will end up camouflaging and hiding a cache to the extent where we won't be able to find it ourselves to do maintenance. Happy Hunting!
  22. I sent out a holiday greeting & I was sued; it is so difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending someone. So I met with my attorney on Monday, 18 December 2006, and on his advice I wish to say the following: Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the summer holiday, practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that South Africa is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee. Happy Holidays PS: Sorry, I forgot to ask my attorney about geocaching so I'm not going to say anything about Happy Hunting!
  23. Hi there Just wondering - wouldn't cachers/visitors tend to concentrate on the Top Whatever and the other ones get neglected in the process? Happy Hunting
  24. You can easily leave your car/bakkie's 12 Volt Battery as a trade item at Sleeping Beauty! The biggest obstacle I had had to remove to retrieve the cache must surely be at Cache Koppie: Start Here by Fish Eagle.
  25. Hi Sometimes the temptation is (very) great to log a find in stead of a DNF. A few weeks back I made a round trip of about 200 Km and couldn't find a cache. My wife and I spent more than half an hour walking around, waiting for the satellite constellation to change sufficiently. My GPSr kept taking me back to the same spot time and again however. Eventually I took a photo and called it a day. Turned out that the published cache co-ordinates were wrong and that the actual position was 112 metres (straight line) away. I could have logged a FTF if the co-ordinates were correct. Being so out of my normal travel area this will mean another trip. So, yeah, the temptation was definitely there to log a find! Happy Hunting
