  1. I was just today looking at them at REI in Isaqua and planning to get some Vibrams looking very good.
  2. well, if it was recyclers there was plenty of pipe, railroad iron , plates and old rusty equipement frames and such that did not seem bothered.
  3. there was signs of dual wheeled vehicles along that road grade when I was up there on the 18th. and also signs of road grading and some clean up like brush scraped flat to the ground and gravel build up. But yet there was sign of other debree and trash(beer cans and bottles) that was not bothered grampapa
  4. what difference does that make? I don't know or understand.
  5. I hiked up the Anette lake trail and along the iron horse grade from the tunnel gate to the avalanche shed and found all of the cache sites to be empty, on Saturday the 18th (my bday). a real shame. but a nice hike and experience none the less. will volunteer to do what I can to place or replace, when a decision has been made. (if I'm still in the area)(work/pending) grampapa
  6. Up and In GCNEA0 this cache was hardly dangerous and especially compared to some of the others I've seen here. It involved climbing a tree about 30-50 feet. but the part that seemed to take the fun out of it was that some folks could see the cache up there and could have read the discription before ever going there but became indignent and claimed a find but did not want to climb the tree. Heck if ya don't want to climb the tree, well fine but don't expect smilie without signing the log. I enjoyed the challenge and the climb and felt good about the acomplishment. grampapa
  7. I don't wear a belt AND suspenders but I DO carry a pen AND pencil at all times and I usually put big short carpenter pencils into my caches, they just last a bit longer and I come by them easily. The next best thing I try to always have is a big hanky in my pocket and I use it to dump all the bits and pieces from the cache onto so as not to loose items in the grass or brush or duff or what- ever-all.
  8. Oh, and I guess I'm still something of a newb 'cause I'm still learning every time I find a cache or try to enter a reply on the forum
  9. When I started and had gotten to 10 I felt that it was time for me to contribute and so I hid my first cache. Ever since , I have maintained about 1 hide every 10 that I found. None are fantastic but all have been found many times by cachers that seem to enjoy and appreciate them.
  10. Looks great gotter dun sent and received emails thanks Ron
  11. Sounds like an excelent event as I have enjoyed mountainman style rendezvous in the past from the Idaho panhandle and one in Jackson hole (back about '93) but it's been awhile. need to rummage up my possables. and I'm also hopelessly addicted to geo- caching(need to look into those cachaholic meetings). but that's a stretch from the panhandle to the poky area. cannot commit to showing up but can dream and offer any assistance that might help from here.
