  1. Signing in will be your new name and your existing password and all your logs and forum posts will automaticaly be changed to your new name, (at least mine were) the only thing i had to change myself was the "hidden by" field on your hides,
  2. I'm pretty sure a "needs Maintenance" log doesn't clock up a find
  3. In Edinburgh I would strongly recomend Edinburgh Royal Mile GCKTYK it's a multi which starts at Edinburgh Castle and runs all the way to Hollyrood House, taking in the new Scottish Parlament building on the way, a great walk showing you places you might otherwise miss
  4. hhhmmmmm , All theis really makes me want to place a cache in the village in Dorset with the wonderful name or "Upper Badgers Bottom".. Using a toy sheep as a container and calling the cache - - - - "Rammed Upper Badgers Bottom" .. .... . or maybe not
  5. **cough** .................................................................. I'll have you know we're as popular as ever (well - - - I am anyway) you just be careful where you put us
  6. I would say that going on how quiet (relatively) the county based websites are, I would doubt that there would be enough "trade" for a site based on one city
  7. What PDA is that? I love my old XDA II, but it's battery life is fairly poor. I could be very tempted with an 11 hour PDA! It's a humble ipaq 4150 with a 2500mAh extented battery (£6 from ebay), the standard 1000mAh battery gave me 5 hours
  8. I'm a great fan of the PDA, but I seriously think that it's only a backup / reference device and not a primary device, stick with getting a Garmin GPS. My PDA has an 11 hour battery life, runs Beelinegps, memory map and tomtom, the bluetooth GPSr i use has the sirf star3 chipset (same as an oregon/colarado/etc), so in effect it is as good as any Garmin, exept for the fact that it isn't waterproof, which for me isn't a problem asd i dont cache in the rain (I dont like getting wet), And the whole thing stands me at less than £50 I don't see any reason why it should be concidered a "back up" device (In fact I have just got rid of my Garmin as it wasn't being used at all)
  9. I'll second that, but I personally would go for a PDA with built-in GPS possibly Pocket Loox N500 series My last PDA was a Loox N500 , with built in gps, the gps was dire, took forever to get a fix and lost it in any sort of tree cover the newer N560 has i believe the star3 chipset same as an oregon etc,
  10. on that buget, I would go for a second hand PDA of ebay (£40 - £50) and a bluetooth gps Then run cachemate/beeline/whatever, and go paperless
  11. Odd that your profile says you have logged 113 finds
  12. In my opinion........... Short answer ............... NO ! long answer ..................HELL NO !
  13. I think I have you all beat .... It took me a little under 7 mins to solve ,, but it's 11546.1miles away So i doubt I'll be dashing out to find it
  14. Under UK law you only need to identify a person, name address telephone no, is not required for that identity, just the matter of identifying who the individual is, then that data is protected by UK law. I have met a few people on that list, so therefore I have identified them. One person on the list I could take you to their house for a cup of English tea. It the list was hosted on GC.com it would be understood by a condition on joining, but the data has passed from that organisation to a 3rd party, in that case they have to be registered to use the data beyond it's original supplier So far as I can see all the data bases on iCache only provide a link to Groundspeak web pages. I see no "passing on" of data, only links to stuff that is already in the public domain. If this is going to be the case with the "new" data base of archived caches, your argument doesn't hold up
  15. Is that list of ALL of the UK reviewers? I always thought there were a lot more, especialy since the listings I have submitted get reviewed so quick! Very personal, including first names! Aren't there any "secret identity" reviewers over there? The one that I'm mostly curious about is this: Graculus--The Blorenges--Chris Would that be our beloved Mrs Blorenge? Nope ,, That would be Mrs Blorenges significant other, a great guy with a wonderful sense of humour, who I enjoyed meeting last year
  16. This from Jeremys facebook, nice to see he has a great sense of humour
  17. As you will no doubt be aware, now Groundspeak has implimented your name chane, all your cache logs, forum posts etc are automaticaly changed to your new name, However; one thing doesn't change automaticaly, and that is the "hidden by" field on the caches you have hidden, this will still say your old name (or whatever name you typed in there), if you want these to have your new name , you will have to edit each one indipendantly (no other way i'm afraid)
  18. I let a fresh cup of tea go cold once, while i popped out to grab one that had just been published 350 feet from home
  19. I think i might be winning the prize for stating the blatantly obvious here................. But have you tried asking him ?
  20. I know it. unfortunately cache is 1,021.3 mi from me I think i know too ..... but it's 4598.3mi from here so i'm unlikely to be grabbing it
