  1. How many of you are surveyors and do you log your monument finds on here as well as the NGS site??? I am interested as I do GPS work for my company I would like to know if I might be able to log the finds that I get while at work. As it looks like I will be travelling I might be able to log finds fromeast coast to west coast and many points in between.
  2. I don't relly think of searching for benchmarks as a chore as I do it for a living. I survey and I need to find these marks for doing GPS work. It is amazing how old some of the points are that we do actually find. I used one the other day set in 1933, found another tht was reset in 1957. Good luck in your hunts for benchmarks.
  3. Thaks for all your responses. It turned out that I had the battery saver option on. Turned it off and the satellite numbers came up. Took it a while to aquire the numbers but it is now tracking the WAAS but I don't notice any difference in accuracy at this point. I can only hope that it will make a difference when it comes to using it in the woods.
  4. I am new to the handheld thing. I have the WAAS enabled but I don't seem to be picking up any. Is this because of the area I am in or am I doing something wrong. I am using a Garmin GPS V. I am no stranger to GPS as it is part of my work duties as a surveyor but we don't use the WAAS system. I am in the N. VA. area. Thanks for any information that you people can give.
