  1. What software version do you have? I have 2.80 and the Garmin website tells me that this is currently the most up-to-date. I have beta version 2.92. Can't remember where I found the link to it.
  2. Well I don't really know what I did but yesterday in finding 10 caches I never got the "approaching" screen. I did look through every menu on my unit and turned off anything that even remotely looked like it could trigger the screen.
  3. It's not just the tones, a window pops up also.
  4. Ya know for you people that like it, more power to you. I'm out there caching and paying attention to how far away from the cache I am. For me shutting it off would be fantastic, for you that like it leaving it on is the way to go. So for those of us who want it off let's start bugging Garmin for the option.
  5. Is there any way to get rid of the arriving at a geocache that pops up when you are getting close to a cache. It seems to come up just as I'm zeroing in on just where GZ is and then I have to punch enter to make it go away, very annoying.
  6. I have Verizon and the notifications get cut off at "location". Is there a way that I could at least get the distance and direction? Would sending to vzwpix.com do it? TIA
  7. A local cacher posts a photo with each log that he writes. On the one's with a special container he photoshops a question mark over the container. He will also embellish a photo depending on the cache name, check our these: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...35-96869d979a4a and http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/displa...d2cdedab762.jpg
  8. NO!!!!!!! I absolutely do not want to shoot someone. However, if I'm ever in a situation where somebody is going to kill me or my wife then I will do everything in my power, including shooting them, to prevent them from achieving their goal.
  9. . So what your telling me is that I don't need WAAS to increase the accuracy of the parallel swathing on my lime spreader? It's not an airplane.
  10. We have a proposal cache around here. It was quite touching. Check out the log and photo by TeamRusty here: S. C. S. HOOVER TRAIL
  11. Why would I want to? Makes it a lot easier to identify saved tracks from your current track. I have all the local trails loaded in as light blue. My current track is black. Improves navigating greatly. Not an issue for me.
  12. I had just read the post from Raine about resetting the PQ's when 2 of the four I had scheduled for today showed up. They were regenerated at 2:44 pm. All 4 were generated at at 12:59 this morning. Can I expect the other two to show up today?
  13. The Colorado is a fine unit. I wouldn't have an Oregon, don't like the interface. People are whining about the features the OR has that the CO does not . They are two different models. Just like you wouldn't buy a Chevy Malibu and then trash talk Chevy because they won't update it with a Corvette engine just because you want more power. Garmin is still supporting the Colorado and will for a long time to come. They do answer emails about the Colorado and say that an update is coming out soon. With all the updates for the Oregon and problems that have been reported with those updates I would be a little uneasy about installing them on my unit.
  14. You can buy a quilling tool at Michael's and some other hobby stores for about $4 that works great.
  15. As busterbabes said in post #11 GSAK GSAK GSAK!!!!!! You load your PQ's into that and filter them any way you want. It even has some neat macros that move data to a from your GPSr.
  16. It comes through with all that for me.
  17. According to an email response I got from Garmin they are coming out with an update for the CO soon and are still supporting it.
  18. I got my 4 PQ's from yesterday again today. They ran at 2am on Monday and again at 11:45 Monday night. Weird!!!!
  19. I have a Colorado 400t. I'm on my second one and it works great. I have played around with a Oregon and although I like the touchscreen I'm not sure about the software but I could get used to it. I have not seen a PN-40 so I have noe comment on it.
  20. Were they close to the limit? I suspect something has gone awry in their optimization (but I did get my PQs today much earlier than last week). I was sort of hoping a Groundspeak programmer would see this thread and say "well that isn't right, I'll get that fixed". I guess if they don't in a few days I'll submit an error report. They were not even half way.
  21. I've had several this week that are not at my distance limit that were not in the PQ this week but were there last week.
  22. Thanks. I thought that might be the case but I didn't want to try it and screw something up. I haven't gotten into the spoiler macro yet so I'm good there.
  23. That makes the geocaching functionality of the Colorado pretty much useless. You could use the Colorado Export Macro so that you can use the Colorado to its full geocaching potential. http://gsak.net/board/index.php?act=ST&f=7&t=10091 OK, let's clarify this for those who don't understand. I load the Colorado with the GSAK macro first to retain the geocaching funtionality. Then I use this macro to load found, unavailable, and all the caches in my database that exceed the 2000 cache limit of the Colorado. The question is do I have to reprocess the database using the Advanced nuvi macro to load the POIs on the Colorado after processing them and loading them on the nuvi 7XX?
