  1. I was eating lots of leftovers for lunch at work instead of buying lunch from the cafeteria. What I saved each week could go towards a coin or so.
  2. Also wondering what were the actual finishes - various different auctions are saying slightly different things, e.g. brushed nickel vs. polished nickel? And was there actually an LE? Thanks.
  3. bump. Ending today in about 5 1/2 hours.
  4. I'll try to get them for you. Update: 7:14pm PDT Got them for KT
  5. Update. Not enough reservations so no remint. WI_Robin has listed the special nickel/black nickel at auction for TnT.
  6. Yup, I've got his Arab on display with my mustangs Sounds good. I love your designs and only have the Rainforest Jewel so far.
  7. Krazytrollz and I were discussing a trade and started "chatting" about the Chincoteague ponies. Here's an early peek at our joint design: We're thinking 3D with different levels - thickest in the front where the foal is, then the mare & bird on her back at the middle level, and the bushes and flying birds at the most recessed level. Possible tweaks: remove the rim and just embedded "Chincoteague Pony" in the sky area, make the bushes lower/less distinct so the sitting bird will be more visible. For the back, we're thinking of having some horses swimming from a wrecked ship to Assateague under a glowing moon, with a glitter blue sea (which is one of the theories regarding how the ponies got there initially). Would be trackable, sold via pre-sale with C&P if there's enough interest. Any suggestions are appreciated Some info on the ponies: http://www.assateagueisland.com/wildlife/pony.htm
  8. We received a nerd as a bonus via one of our trades (thanks much to the generous one) and now my family is very interested in getting a few more. Since we do not have our own nerd to trade, do folks trade them for other coins?
  9. Thanks for the history - really neat.
  10. Just received my set today and they are absolutely wonderful! I can't wait to show my friend's 2nd grade class next year when they study Scandinavia. Question to mousekatat or CastleC&Ps - could you post some more info about the shapes and runes and symbols? I went back to the website and there's no longer any info about them. Thanks. Hilda
  11. Looking for 2007 Quigley Jones Tall Ships in Antique Copper or Satin Silver. Will trade a Norwegian 2008 or Titanic LE.
  12. Hello again, I've been pondering the possibility of doing a remint and offering the nickel with black nickel horses as an LE of 50 max rather than only 5 for auctioning for fund raising. We have not sold any yet, so hopefully no one minds this possible change of direction. They would still be a fund raiser to help with Tank's medical bills. The other 50 (min) would be split into possibly antique copper and a small number of the previous 4 finishes sold by C&P. Actual nickel with black nickel: Link to the previous 4 finishes sold by C&P. Antique silver, antique bronze on top row. Gold with nickel horses, satin nickel on bottom row. Regular finishes would be $10, the N/BN for Tank would be $15. Shipping would be $2.75 for the first coin (with tracking), $0.50 each additional. Please send an email to me at geocchr AT yahoo DOT com (not my normal email) with what you are interested in - I'm new to this, so do not know how to set up a reservation page. I understand from other threads that not all reservations are actually purchased, but please be about 90% certain that you will actually buy what you reserve. If there is enough interest, I will proceed with a remint. Thanks. Hilda (of e.caballus team)
  13. Ah, sounds familiar Unfortunately, looks like C&P just sold out of the extra inventory they had. I have a few for trades and someone just told me they found one on ebay. Are you aware of the other horse coins? I can think of a few (some which may be hard to acquire) and I'm sure other folks know of others: Run for the Roses & the Carousel Horses by Cinemaboxers Race for Cache by ReydelRoble Horses Around the World by uktimjones (still available for sale/presale at Cointracking.com) various Texas coins FlyingV's MustangJoni's Pathfinders etc. And I can't remember the name of one in the shape of a horseshoe with a draft horse picture, nor one with a bucking bronco on it. Happy hunting
  14. Cointracking.com has a comment section for each coin in a collection and sometimes you'll see a price there if folks are selling part or all of their collection. I've purchased some older coins from folks who are downsizing. It's really easy to get too many really fast, esp at first, as I have discovered Then there's the challenge of how to store them, which is discussed in several other threads.
  15. Lots of threads: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=193963 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=177693 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...148184&st=0 I have seen the vinyl flips stick to some coins after some time (how long probably depends on heat/humidity too). I've put mine in mylar flips before putting them in 3-ring coin pages.
  16. Got the nickel with black nickel horses: We're keeping 2 or 3, so only 2 or 3 will ever be sold. Any preference: silent auction here or ebay? Ebay is now taking ~8% of the final value fee; more people would see it though.
  17. We found a few in caches and were given a few by the owner of one of the geocoin "stores" who happened to live near one of our caches. Bought a few on ebay until we realized there were on-line vendors and this forum Then took the plunge and designed one ourselves. Some of the existing vendors will partner with you if they like your design. Depending on how many they sell, you might have to buy less than 100 (the typical min order) or if they sell lots, they give you some free coins. If you partner though, your design may get tweaked and/or delayed. We just went that route and are very happy. The project took about 3 months longer than I originally thought it would.
  18. Would Paypal take a certain % of the sale if the buyer uses a credit card? I know they did for the ebay sales I did. Folks who have done so can comment better than me, but one aspect that daunted me from selling my coins myself is the packing and shipping of the orders I think Paypal will automatically fill in the buyer's address at least if you use their label software, and you can buy self-adhesive labels that are the perfect size.
  19. My herd came galloping in this afternoon I've tried to send some emails regarding trades but I think some might have been eaten by spam filters. If we have a trade in progress for them and you haven't heard from me, please send me your address via regular email.
  20. Anyone near San Antonio Texas able to help my coin come to California? Hallgeir released it in Norway for me and his friend brought it to Texas, where it's been admired but languishing in cache GCJFKE. Thanks. ecaballus
