  1. Love this one! I was born in the year of the ox, and it appears the back is one way of writing my last name in Chinese!
  2. I should be seeing another rev of dieart any day now, probably tweak it for a week and hopefully can be done before the holidays. Then some weeks to order samples, so probably Jan or Feb before C&P puts them up for pre-sale and another month after that for coins in hand. We are thinking of doing the following finishes: sunrise in antique copper sunrise in antique bronze moonlight in antique silver Then a couple of two-tones which might be for trade-only or special editions: two-tone moonlight with black nickel and shiny nickel horses two-tone sunrise with satin nickel background and gold horses
  3. Just heard from C&P that they are almost done with the design. Moonlight version will be with a glow moon: Tracking number on the edge, will have some seagulls added to the front rim. Not quite sure what the gray areas for the horses' legs translate to in the mold, but they assured me the mint would understand. Any opinion regarding whether the reflected water should glow also?
  4. Not quite final, but here's the current dieart. Not quite sure what the white areas on the horses legs mean - I'm assuming those are just to indicate levels/contours.
  5. Glad you like it No sign-up sheet other than being on CoinsAndPins' email notification list for their pre-sales. I just asked them today if they have a revised dieart done yet - hopefully soon.
  6. Our Chincoteague isn't quite ready yet, but should be on pre-sale at CoinsAndPins in a month or so. I do have a very few mustangs still. Email me if interested. I'm not on the forum much these days since work is crazily busy.
  7. Thanks. I'll keep the trade pending.
  8. Hello, Anyone heard from keewee recently? We had set up a trade awhile ago for a Caching Time but now that I finally have the coin, I haven't been able to reach him. Thanks. e.caballus
  9. Welcome aboard! I started about 9 months ago and quickly got hooked. I have a few to sell to try to keep my collection under the triple digit mark. Email sent. For the medieval theme, I have a spare Templar & Teutonic Knights.
  10. I even got an email that my order shipped Does anyone know what the LE finish is? It almost looks like black nickel with gold?
  11. Roamed the Internet a bit and came up with: http://www.thehiddengalleon.com/treasurehunter.htm Not clear to me from the brief summary of La Galga that the ship carried ponies, but I haven't read the book. Wasn't able to find a manifest listing on the web. Some other theories at: http://www.vims.edu/GreyLit/SeaGrant/vmrb34-2.pdf Start on page 13 The theory of the shipwrecked Spanish galleon is certainly the most fascinating one for me And makes for a nice coin design.
  12. Pre-dieart drawing from CoinsAndPins of the back, sunrise version at this link. The sun may eventually just be a color rather than glow in the dark.
  13. Unfortunately it's been WELL over 44 Days I finally DID get a response yesterday (and promise of a refund) HOWEVER, I had to get a little creative in order to contact them! It certainly wasn't thru their web store. Still haven't heard back from my email query. Can you suggest to them to give folks an update? And perhaps simply separate the non LE shipments? Thanks.
  14. Would it help to have actual pictures of the pony's? I have some digital shots stored somewhere from when we camped at Asseteque. Thanks for the offer of photos of the ponies. KrazyTrollz sent us several, and we did use them as the starting point for the sketches. She had one where one of the ponies was almost in someone's tent!
  15. Sorry for the silence. We tried several times to get swimming ponies from a shipwreck to the island, but just couldn't get the ratios correct for the heads of the swimming ponies to look decent when the whole coin is only 1.75". So we settled for just two ponies safely on land with a shipwreck in the background. Sketches are at C&P for translation into dieart. They said they are pretty busy right now, so maybe another week or two before die art is ready for review, esp since the back sketch needs a lot of re-work. Here are links to the rough sketches if anyone would like to take a peek. Any feedback is always welcome. Front Mare & Foal Back Sunrise Back Moonlight We are thinking antique silver for the moonlight version, then antique bronze and/or antique copper for the sunrise version. Possible a couple of two-tones for trading only.
  16. Any update? If the LE is causing the delay, perhaps ship the others first? If the LE is simply unmakable, perhaps give a refund for the LE portion of the set? Edit: I did try emailing a week or so ago but didn't hear back; hence posting here.
  17. If you are just looking to track coins as they travel around, you can track any coin you find and log and add to your watch list. I find the coins I have turned loose often don't move as much as the coins I have found and logged and can watch. Obviously you don't get the set the mission, but then coins don't always follow the mission they were sent out for anyway. I picked up a coin in a cache in CA that was supposed to stay in Rome - now I'm trying to figure out how to get it back there.
  18. I had to buy the whole set to get the LE I wanted so will have a few available once I receive them: Gold/copper LE Antique Silver Antique Copper $16 including shipping (pretty much my cost) Please send me an email through my profile if you are interested. I won't invoice you until I get them in hand. Edit: Info on the coins at this link
  19. I am honored to have a set of the KayakerinME and it's absolutely one of our favorites. Not sure whether to open up a separate thread - this dialogue brings up an interesting question about what happens to "trade-only" coins when people get out of coin collecting completely (as has been mentioned in a few threads here)?
