  1. Yes it works fine since I tried it on my Vista HCx. One thing that I just checked out is that the custom POIs do not show up unless you are zoomed down to 500 feet. Check that out. You can change the level of zoom by going into Setup > Map. On one of the pages in there you can change the zoom level for user waypoints, map points, etc. I loaded a couple states worth of caches as POIs and then proceeded to drive through half a state before I caught on that I needed to zoom in or change the zoom level for those points if I wanted to see any of them.
  2. Normally, if it's anywhere near my area - within the 3 states; I'll make a caching day out of it and go pull it from the cache myself. This is exactly what we did Unfortunately, we never found a suitable route from our approach.
  3. I know someone who has had a coin in an unpublished cache for more than 8 months. Although the owner of the cache is active in the area, apparently they haven't responded to my friend inquiring about the cache and his coin. It's a real drag
  4. Thanks Chris! I actually sat down and put my feelings about Montana to paper one day, came up with a short 'Ode' if you will. Then I decided to just take the 2 lines and drop the rest. I guess I felt it summed everything up. I figured for my personal it outta be something I came up with versus borrowing from another. Glad ya like it. That's just so awesome
  5. You put the most rocking quotes on your coins... congrats on the cool coin!
  6. I don't even have a PN-40 yet and they are tops... They are *very* useful in TOPO 7
  7. Thought I'd give a heads up.... be on the look out in Canada!!!
  8. I may need to take you up on that! I'm very near the limit of my site, enough that I need to watch if the mapset expands much or I add any new maps. I'm trying to avoid ponying up for more space; maybe a switch to a provider that offers more is in store. Just let me know, especially as I figure you personally probably don't use the DeLorme files I'd hate to see them go if you didn't mind building the files.
  9. Is it actually easier to use the GPX files rather than the .an1 files for this? If so, I can remove the DeLorme data download and free up some of the space on my maxed-out web server! If it would help, I can host the DeLorme files and you can link to them from your site, as I really appreciate them. I don't know how much work it is for you to produce them, but if you don't mind doing so, I am more than willing to help out that way if you are interested
  10. My wife said I couldn't go try and get it *coughwhippedcough* Truer words never spoken... um typed Congrats to the all finders and thanks for the fun Geo Sasquatch!
  11. My wife said I couldn't go try and get it
  12. Right on! This used with your kmz covering WA restrictions for cache placement will be very useful. Thanks so much!
  13. See what I get for starting a post and getting up half way through a sentence to get some coffee?
  14. Who would 'own' them and do stuff like watch the listings to see that people actually found them? I've seen plenty of benchmarks logged with pictures of what people thought was the benchmark but really only a reference marker, or with no pictures at all.
  15. Right on! I'm looking forward to some adventuring to blow off post Black Friday insanity and hope that I can do WA justice. We've got it pretty good here! Will even try and get the coin to bump into coreynjoey
  16. Moun10Bike V3 uses TB style numbering with Prefix MB. They are also numbered i believe The later M10B coins like v3 and v4 and at least the 2007 Christmas Coinament are numbered, but also have 'regular' tracking numbers. Also, if you go to Moun10Bike's website and visit his geocoin page, you can see the history behind his coins (and in coins in general I guess). You can find it here
  17. While I can't really answer the question, I'd try the DeLorme forums. There's tons of info there and from posts I know that some folks were quickly filling up the 8 gig memory. Looking forward to getting one of these in the not so distant future, so if you find something that works (I'd be loading as many maps of all of WA as possible myself), I'd greatly appreciate you posting
  18. Thanks And thanks to Forty-n-Eight and nolenator!
  19. Congrats to all the folks making the find!
  20. Sweet, thanks for posting that. I hadn't read any blogs the past few days and hadn't seen that :-) Awesome! After Christmas (when I can get my PN-40) seems sooooo far away ;-) Lack of GSAK support is a drag though
  21. It dawned on me the other day that the Geo Sasquatch coin in the Tunnel of Light was still logged into the cache... Plan A was to head up there yesterday after mightyzinn got out of school. Even though it was a nice, sunny fall day, he wasn't game. Plan B was to head up last night, but by the time I was able to head out, it was really late, there was no moon and it didn't seem like the best of ideas. So I put Plan C into action pretty early this morning. Headed up to the APE cache with headlamp on in the snow/rain with the lights finally getting turned on about the time I hit the cache. After a very complete search (twice) of that wonderfully large container, I decided the coin wasn't there. The OCD kicked in and I even expanded my search a bit (you know... just in case someone dropped it or something!). I think the only thing I didn't think of was to look to see if it was taped to the underside of the container A bit disappointed that the coin was logged into the cache still, but that's how the cookie crumbles (and it crumbles that way quite a bit with the APE cache, as there were *no* trackables there but tons logged in, which has been the case the 5-6 times I've been there!) Great little hike, views of a snowy Granite Mt and I even lucked out that Geo-Prime had paid a visit before I'd made it up there  Thanks for the little midweek adventure Geo Sasquatch... the weekend felt soooo far away
  22. Right on, congrats to everyone who's tracked Sasquatch down!
