  1. Thanks for bringing that up, Harmon. He's not a geocacher, although I would love for him and his wife to be. Since I only know hand-helds, that's what I suggested to him. I will suggest the auto version. Thanks again, Harmon! Robyn
  2. Thanks for the input, Harmon and Duncan. What an awesome group of cachers we have here in San Diego! I'll pass this info to my friend. They don't leave for their upcoming trip for quite awhile, so we'll do a little more research. Habu! stated that he was very happy with his Garmin and it's European software. Thanks again guys! Robyn
  3. Hey all! I have a friend that travels across the big pond a bunch, and is interested in purchasing the best GPSr for Europe. They travel all over the country, visiting B&B's. He's very proficient in maps, but I thought a GPSr with mapping capabilities would be awesome! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Robyn of Team Reid
  4. It's a possibility for Team Reid. Not quite sure yet... I've sent the e-mail to Janie. Does anyone know the terrain? My Mom made it through the Forbidden Forest with flying colors (I'm so proud of her!), but I'd hate to do much more than that. Hopefully you will see us tonight! Robyn of Team Reid
  5. Me scream? That's why I'm sending the boys FIRST! Mama didn't raise no fool. Looking forward to seeing everyone at 8:00 p.m. Not sure of the parking - I would assume that you need a pass. Oh yeah, duh, don't forget the flashlights! Robyn p.s. Bill - I have an extra bag of ammo
  6. We want to go! Sounds like fun. I think I could get Historia and Infinitee to come also! This is for Friday the 29th? TA Yeppers, the 29th. Sounds like we're gonna have some fun!!!! Just don't feed the kids dessert after dinner. Habu! and Team Reid will provide some small munchies for the trail. Robyn
  7. Hey Everyone! Looks like Friday night is the night for the Forbidden Forest. All of Team Reid, including Cameron (15 1/2) and Connor (11), will be there, with about 1 million candlewatt power. Love to have some company! Say 8:00 p.m. at the suggested parking location on the cache page? Hope to see everyone there. Robyn
  8. Hey all! Didn't want anyone to forget about tomorrow night's 2nd Annual Christmas Lights GeoWalk. Hope to see everyone there! Robyn & Kathy of Team Reid

  10. Count us for in for breakfast also. Quantity: 2 The girls wont be there....Marc will be very disapointed . Saterday it is. 4 of us for breakfest. 1 for breakfest, and I'll bring a ladder See everyone at 7:00 @ Denny's. We'll have plenty of towels, gloves, room deoderizer (you'll understand later!), and a tazer, just in case the bull decides to show up at one of the caches! Robyn & Kathy
  11. Count us in! Where and what time to meet? How about Denny's @ 7:00 or HERE @ 8:00. Let me know if that works for everyone. Robyn & Kathy We are good for Denny's! Thanks for setting it up Looks like I'll be able to make this one. Where is the Dennys you are going to ? I have an 8ft ladder I can bring. Will that be tall enough Originally the ladder had to be twelve feet tall. Of course a few athletic finders scored the cache without a ladder but I can't recommend that approach. After a high wind destroyed the first placement we repositioned the container and it became a bit easier to reach with a shorter ladder. With an eight-foot ladder you'll probably have to do a balancing act. Robyn is the perfect candidate for a balancing act ... you'll understand why from the photo below. Think about it ... y'all don't need no stinkin' ladder. I love that picture, Harmon! I have it at my desk at work. I can't tell you how many people ask me how I got up there. Breakfast on Saturday morning is at the Denny's off of Los Coches next to Blockbuster. If you have 4WD, you can cut across the parking lot (Gene, you rock!) Robyn

  13. Any plans for Saturday the 2nd? I was thinking about heading out towards the Sandy Creek Cowboy Caches. Anyone interested? Robyn of Team Reid
  14. I would also like to nominate Flagman. He has been outstanding in his contributions to geocaching, especially in the San Diego area. He has also shown kindness to others and it is always great to talk with him. Paul aka Team Adelos We second that nomination for FLAGMAN. We can't say enough good things about him and what he contributes to our local community. Plus..it's so much fun trying to stump him with puzzle caches. R/ Jodi and john aka (Jahoadi and John) I think Pat, Paul, and J&J stated it just perfect! Flagman is an icon here in San Diego. He makes every effort to attend SD events, even if it's in the desert 2 hours away. He brings with him smiles, hugs, and those highly sought after puzzle hints! I think every cacher in SD has his cell phone for a lifeline. I can't pass by an American Flag without smiling and thinking of Tom. Robyn of Team Reid
  15. We had such a great time with everyone! Let's do that again! Looking forward to doing the SCCC's soon. Not too many hills there, Paul! Robyn and Kathy of Team Reid
  16. If you have a high clearance vehicle, you should join us tomorrow for the Bear Valley Loop. You'll have a bunch of awesome teachers to show you the ropes! Check out the events thread for more details. Robyn
  17. Just to let everyone know, Team Reid is hosting our 2nd Annual Christmas Lights Geo-Walk. It will be on Saturday night, December 9th. Should be FUN. Hope to see you all there! Robyn & Kathy

  19. Be looking for that little yellow Jeep! I just mentioned last week that I really wanted to do this trail. Thanks for the get-together! See you at 9:00 at the Blockbuster. Robyn & Kathy of Team Reid If anyone would like to join us for a 7:45 breakfast at the nearby Denny's, let us know and we'll save you a place. Kathy I'd like to go but I just washed my jeep... Clean jeeps are for seesies!!! Kathy

  22. Thanks, Pat! That's what Team Reid is all about. Yesterday was a prime example. Had such a blast at Tomb Raider and Mud Cave Cookie tin. I think I only scored 4 caches in the whole day, but sure did have an incredible time! Thanks to Richard, Jerry, and yourself, I'm stuffing my brain with more memories! Robyn
  23. Hey look everybody! Kathy of team Reid posted a not on the Forum. Hi Kathy. Woo Hoo! Hi Kathy! I'm now returning to lurker status. Bye. Kathy
  24. We were planning to go too. Where to meet and when? The tide schd. shows peek tide is 14:00 Low tide is approximately 14:15 on Saturday and 15:00 on Sunday. There is a fair amount of latitude either way (though I prefer to lean toward the falling tide side rather than the rising tide side...) I can go either day. Sunday's tide will be a little lower but not enough that this should be the primary factor. So if Saturday is good, we could meet by the alleyway near the Marine Room (N 32 51.120 W 117 15.644 ) at 13:30 or so... Hi Gene & James & crew! I would love to grab this cache with you guys. Saturday would be the preferred day for me, but if you go on Sunday, I can maybe talk the hubby into joining. Sounds like a blast! Robyn of Team Reid Quick edit: The hubby would really like to go, so maybe Sunday? Let me know! Since it sounds as if DaMoores have a footy match (soccer game) on Saturday, Sunday seems to be the day. So, how about we meet at the alleyway near the Marine Room (N 32 51.120 W 117 15.644 ) at 14:15...? Sounds like a blast! The hubby and I will be there at 14:15. Robyn Be careful on the black rocks. They are extremely slippery! Have fun! That is a very cool cache! BBG still on for tomarrow. 1415 at the top of the alleyway near the Marine Room (N 32 51.120 W 117 15.644 ) Bring a change of clothes, Just in case. Just got a call from Robyn who asks that I tell you she will be unable to make it today. She's so very sorry to miss this adventure! Kathy
