  1. Hey Team Red Ruby- Is this trail going to be on the list for next year's Colorado trip? I showed them to the hubby and he couldn't stop talking about it! We hope so! Robyn
  2. If anyone happens to have the day off, I would highly recommend helping with this camp! I've helped Bill with 2 Playtime events in the past and they are a blast! I'm sure it will be doubled with excitement by the kids. Hope to see some of you on Monday! Robyn of Team Reid
  3. Count Team Reid in as well! Thanks to Linda for the heads up on this. We'll be there at 7:30! Robyn & Kathy
  4. Mom, Chelsea, and I will be meeting you at the P&R at 7:15. We (Paul & Michael) may be able to show up at the trail head.. don't wait for us though. I may just decide to sleep in for once! TA I can't tell for sure reading the previous posts, but is this trail best done in a 4-by or will 2wd do ok? Hi Jerry- I know this is kind of a late post for this morning, but there will be 2WD vehicles going on this trip. There are a few caches that may require a little bit of a hike due to the condition of the road. The Simpson Clan and grnzoom did it in a Prius. I haven't been on this road myself, so we're in for some fun! Robyn I did everything in my Honda Civic. Twasn't a problem at all. Just wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions on this trail. We had a blast! No difficulties for our 8 vehicle caravan. Robyn

  6. OK, roll call for Saturday! If you could please post if you will be meeting us @ 7:15 at the park & ride for breakfast at Penfolds, or just meeting us up at the trailhead at 9:00. After our tour of the Rawson trail, some of us will be hangin' in Temecula, and some of us will be heading back home. Looking forward to an awesome time! Robyn
  7. A side road mentioned earlier as a possible 4WD requirement leads off the main track to a dead-end where Geocache named "Jeepnakd's 1000th Find!!! Cache Box" is placed. It is about a quarter-mile to the hide and crosses a drainage dip that an SUV can handle easily. In truth a careful sedan driver should be able to handle it as well since the crossing should be dry by now. Sandy and I finished by heading into Hemet so no comment on the final part of your route that heads southward. Harmon is correct about that side road. It has ruts that we easily crossed without 4-wheel drive. The other sketchy spot is at the end of Rawson up towards Black Mountain. There is one side road that ends in sand, though as long as you don't go all the way to the end (where the cache is), it should not be a problem. There was another road that had a cache on it, but that was archived for invading into the preserve area--as it should have been. I doubt you'll have any problems. Thank you for all the helpful hints, crew! I'd rather be safe than sorry, so we'll keep an eye out on the trail. Maybe I'll drive my Jeep with it's recovery equip instead of my truck. Hmmm.... Thank you for the Hemet suggestion, Harmon! I'll check that route in case I can stay out late to play! Robyn
  8. As far as the Rawson trail next Saturday, we'll be meeting at the Park & Ride to carpool off of Deer Springs Rd (GCTDRH) at 7:15, heading up to Penfolds for breakfast at 8:00 (28250 Old Town Front St, Temecula), and hitting the trail around 9:30. We should hit at least 25 caches along Rawson and De Portola Road. Not quite sure how long the ride will be, so bring some snacks and drinks to enjoy en route. This trail is 2WD accessible, so would love to have everyone join us! Robyn & Kathy of Team Reid Starting cache will be Rawson Road Entrance (GC160DZ) and ending with Butterfield Stage (GC19X8V)
  9. Is this 2wd friendly? - I'm thinking about not bringing the jeep. These gas prices and 12 mpg are killing me. Either way I'm in forthis cache run. Dave Yeppers! It is 2WD accessible. The Simpson Clan and Grnzoom did it in a Prius. I'm leaving the Jeep behind as well. Glad to have everyone! Robyn
  10. I haven't researched thoroughly as of yet, but a good center spot looks like GC16GNH. kwvrs suggested it to us last weekend. Big ranches with lots of caches along the way. Robyn
  11. Looks like there might be a few of us doing the Rawson trail up in Temecula on April 26th. If anyone would like to join us, please post and we'll set it up! Tentatively, there is Team Reid, Canadian Grl, and possibly Habu!. Penfolds for breakfast? Will announce details closer to the 26th. Should be a fun trail! Robyn & Kathy of Team Reid
  12. I dont know anything about a ladder hidden in the bushes!! I did read somewhere you can use these coords N32 46.129 W116 29.531 or ladder #1 N32 46.133 W116 29.537 ladder #2 N32 46.131 W116 29.532 Let me know what set works the best - Enjoy. Thanks for the coords, Dave. We'll let you know which set works best. And thank you for the reminder of Beth's going away party. That's why we're starting so early on the SCCC! We're saving SCCC #1 for the end, just in case we run out of time. See you all tomorrow night at the party! Robyn
  13. I'm sorry I missed this. Did someone at least try and go down that same hill in their Jeep? BTW ; John aka Team Fatman......my husband made some special stickers for you. Really cool.....so..... should I debut the design here? I would like to see the sticker ??? Chris / TEAM DUCKIT Here 'tis folks ... Tean Fatman will add the details about receiving this great graphic. This is all thanks to John, Paulette AKA Team Geogeeks husbands doing. Thanks Harmon for posting this for me. Hope you all like it as much as I do. Awesome graphic, John..........looks just like you! Kathy
  14. OK, time for roll call! We would like to know who will be at Denny's @ 7:00 and who's showing up in the parking lot @ 8:15 for the carpool out east. If you can't make either, just show up at #3 @ 9:00. Please post if you'll be bringing the ladder! Robyn
  15. Dave, this event looks too good to pass up! We'll see about that dang work thing. Luckily my vacation rolls the previous month! Gosh, looks like I'll have to acquire a dual trailer to haul the hubby's Jeep up as well. Gosh, life is good! Robyn & Kathy of Team Reid
  16. This event was so fun last year! If you have the opportunity, please come! There were so many people in South Lake Tahoe last year, it just added to the fond memories ! It's an awesome opportunity to do a little caching and a little sight-seeing in one of the United States' prettiest places. Lots of hotels near as well as campgrounds. Water activities, hiking, biking, Jeepin', bowling, you name it, they got it. Lots of cool prizes are given away as well. And did I mention "FREE"! Hope to see a bunch of caching faces in Tahoe! Robyn of Team Reid
  17. Looks like a group will be heading out to do the Sandy Creek Cowboy Caches this Saturday. We'll probably stop for breakfast at the Denny's at Los Coches in El Cajon at 7:00, and be heading out east by 8:15. Sorry for the early start, but we need to make it to the going away party for da beave! If anyone has a telescoping ladder, please bring! Robyn
  18. Don't forget about Saturday night! Come rain or shine, we will be there. If a little rain dampens your spirit, come anyway, stay in your car, sign the log, grab a few goodies, and drive the course! Looking forward to seeing everyone. Robyn & Kathy

  24. Ninety-four and an exciting life all the way. Thanks very much Pat, Harmon 94 is a respectable number of years. My condolences on his passing -- it certainly sounds like he was an interesting man, to say the least. The ultimate truth in life is that in the end, nobody survives it. Living it while you're alive is the secret to happiness. You'll never see "I wish I'd spent more time at work" engraved on a tombstone So very sorry to learn of your Dad's passing, Harmon. I always enjoyed your stories about him, and especially the picture of him in uniform. Kathy
