  1. The problem lies with the number of active participants in this thread. I can count them all on one hand... Here are some pics taken over 14k feet from a few weeks ago: ~see ya at the 2009 Mountain Fiesta and 4x4 Caching Adventure! Cool pics! You all live in some of the prettiest country... don't know if I could handle all of that white stuff, though! I know the hubby couldn't! That's all he's talked about, though, since we got back from the 2008 Mountain Luau - retiring in Colorado. Looking forward to exploring more of your wonderful state in 2009! Robyn P.S. Does your pup extreme hike with you? He sure was a bundle of energy and fun to be with!
  2. Gosh, I almost had to go to page 2 to find the Colorado Thread! I miss all of the cool pictures. Took me about 2 seconds to realize why we haven't seen any. Duh! That funny white stuff must be interfering! Would still love to see some pictures from beautiful Colorado! Robyn
  3. Welcome! Just so happens that there is a geocaching event on the 6th of December in Poway. It is GC1J4T7 if you'd like to look it up. It's a great way to meet other cachers. Hope to see you then! Robyn of Team Reid
  4. Our goal is to complete the rest of the 4x4 Challenge (GC1DZFV). I have 7 out of 10 caches/trails completed and I believe Team Reid has 5. Our plan is to do 2 caches that I have already done that are closer to the 38 (2N68Y & Pipes Canyon, 1N01- GC15BY1). This will bring both of us to 7 caches. Then we'd like to do 1N37A Heart Bar Creek (GC15PCF) & 1N38 Heart Bar Peak (GC1DYR0). After this it is a choice of a few trails to get the 10 cache and then onto John Bull for the final cache, time permitting. I'm thinking Burnt Flat or Horsethief Flat. We'd love to have some jeepers (or Toyotas) come along. Dave Well, looks like it's a go for this Saturday the 22nd. Would love to have some fellow Jeepers (or you too, John!) join us for the festivities. We'll probably leave north county at about 7:00. Will post on the forums more definite details as it gets closer... Robyn
  5. Just wanted to let you know that the date has been set for the 4th Annual Christmas Lights Geo-Walk. We chose Saturday, December 6th. I will be posting the cache page in the next few days. Can't wait to see everyone again! I'll put in a call to the weather center to ask for clear skies this time! Robyn
  6. Looks like it's a go for Big Bear this weekend! Dhsundance and I/hubby will be heading up to hopefully finish the Big Bear Black Diamond 4X4 Challenge. Would love to have some company! Let us know if you'd like to join us. Probably leave SD around 6:30ish. Will post exact time & location prior to Sunday. We'll be heading up the backside (38) to start. Looking forward to it! Robyn

  9. Let me change that to a no-go for Big Bear. Sorry for such late notice, but the family calls. Robyn
  10. Looks like it's a go for Big Bear! dhsundance and I thought we'd head up the backside and grab Heart Bar Peak & Heart Bar Creek. Not too sure from there, but will research a little more tonight. Please let us know if you'd like to join us to grab some more caches for the Big Bear 4X4 Black Diamond Challenge. Might even find a few more! Robyn
  11. Oh, Mark! I guess I need to proof before I hit the send button! I'll be a little more careful next time! Still a little up in the air about Big Bear or Truckhaven. Trying to talk the hubby into Big Bear. I need 5 more for the 4X4 Challenge. I'll post when I find out more info... Robyn
  12. Locked eh? I guess that would exclude me.. Well.... lockers aren't necessary, just helpful in some situations. Still up in the air as to whether or not we will be going. Possibly a Big Bear run instead. Not sure. Would love to have you, Paul! Robyn
  13. Possible run to Truckhaven on Saturday. Not much caching, but a lot of off-roading! It will definitely be a locked & lifted kinda day. Let me know if you'd like to join us. Robyn
  14. Just wanted to thank dhsundance (& Christine), shortwing, & The Fat Cats for an incredible day of Jeepin'! It was definitely a "pucker factor" run - not for the faint of heart. Luckily our group had no casualties and minimal body damage. The body armor on the other hand took a major beating! Pics to follow soon. I'm sure there will be another run up Bronco Peak soon. Robyn of Team Reid
  15. Hey Team Red Rubicon- You can keep this off of next year's luau run! Holy cow! I wanna know what happened to the Jeep in the last picture! What an "E" ticket ride I bet that was. Robyn
  16. Robyn ..........You and Sue need to look at this video on "YOU TUBE" when you do your search on YOU TUBE web site, type this in the search area ......... ............4x4 Corral Canyon Bronco Part 1.......... and set back and watch the video .............. this is Bronco peak area................. Chris / TEAM DUCKIT Hmmm....a bit knarly, isn't it! I just watched parts 1,2,and 3. You may need to add to Locked-Lifted and no crying. That stump looks big. I am game but I need to fix my leaking power steering first. Maybe a Jeeping 3 event. Woo Hoo! Loved those videos! Sue's right, pretty knarly. Did you see the damage on the XJ? Wowsers! I guess that's why we have body armour. If all the planets align correctly, maybe we'll still go. If not, there are a bazillion other off-roading trails to choose from! Robyn Well, we're still in for tomorrow for Bronco Peak. Still not sure of the starting time, so I will post when I find out. Not too early - maybe 9ish? at Buckman Springs. Looking forward to it! Robyn 9:00 a.m. it is at the Buckman Springs Rest Stop. So far we have Team Reid, dhsundance, The Fat Cats, and shortwing. Please let us know if you'd like to join us so we don't miss you! Robyn

  19. Congrats!! And THANK YOU for your service!!! A BIG DITTO on that! And a big DITTO to that ditto! Congratulations! Robyn of Team Reid
  20. Anyone up for dhsundance's GC14XWK CC #3? Looks like it will be a definite "locked and lifted" kinda trip. We were planning on this Sunday (19th). It is in the Corral Canyon OHV area. So far we have the Fat Cats joining us. Anyone? Robyn of Team Reid
  21. Thank you for all of the suggestions, everyone! Looks like it will turn out to be a real fun day. Bummer that a few of you can't make it. We'll place a few "cookies" out there for you all for another trip. See you at the Ramona Cafe @ 7:00! Robyn
  22. How about 7:00 a.m. at the Ramona Cafe for breakfast, or 9:00 a.m. at GCQ1AF White Matter. Hey Pat, what if we promise a few new caches along the trail to beta test? Depending on how hot it is, the hiking caches sound doable. There might be a few that would like to hike, and a few that would rather stay in the air-conditioned vehicles! Robyn Please sound off if you'd like to join us for breakfast. The table always seems to get longer and longer! Looking at the maps, I'm wondering if we can head out after Palomar Divide Road on Doane Valley, hit Nate Harrison Road, then to Old Cole Grade Road. How does that sound? Is it doable? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Robyn P.S. I'll be swinging by Costco to pick up some lock-n-locks. Should be a fruitful day!
  23. It's a fun run, but it would be duck soup for you, Robyn. Duganrm drove his '66 Mustang when we did it... Robyn..............Just say when................... I would like to go, and I know there would be a few others Chris / TEAM DUCKIT I was hoping someone would ask!!! How does Saturday sound? The hubby will be at the Santee Open House, so looks like I just might have the day available. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller What time and where do you plan on meeting up? May be able to make if I don't go to the Desert. How about 7:00 a.m. at the Ramona Cafe for breakfast, or 9:00 a.m. at GCQ1AF White Matter.
