  1. Caution! Three TnT auctions got yanked off E*** this morning. I got the following message: You recently listed the following listing: 260206351162 - G O'Coin Bug Esquire Mystery Coin - A TnT Auction 260206353006 - 3Doxies Gold LE Geocoin (Hard to Find) - A TnT Auction 260206354560 - Ultimate Waypoint Antique Copper AE - A TnT Auction The listing was removed because it violated the e*** Charity policy. The violation occurred when you included the following information in your listing: The proceeds from the sale of this coin will go to assist Tank and Tracy from TnT with some catastrophic medical expenses. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled. e*** encourages Community members to support charities. Accordingly, we have partnered with MissionFish to make it easier for members to donate to the organizations of their choice. However, because charitable fundraising is heavily regulated by federal and state law, we've created very specific guidelines regarding charitable solicitation on eBay. Sheesh. Hmmm. I wonder if they'll be okay with me relisting and taking out the "offending" language? (Names changed to protect the not so innocent!)
  2. I just upgraded from a Magellan xPlorist 500 to a 60CsX and I love it! The only thing I'm having some difficulty with is the map screen. On my Magellan I could set a point to point to the cache and my screen would "move" as I got closer to the cache. There was also a line from where I was to where the cache was. I seem to have a line on this unit but the screen never moves as I get closer to the cache. Is there something in the way I have my unit set up that is causing this? Anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks! You guys ROCK!
  3. I've used a 500 for about 9 months and had no problems until the screw that connected it to the charger got stripped out. After my own experience with their poor customer service I replaced the rechargeable battery with a AAA battery pack and bought a Garmin. This unit is now my backup and honestly, I haven't missed it a bit...the Garmin is head and shoulders above it! (Don't shoot me! Please!)
  4. I'm guessing 59 people will show up (cuz they don't want a contract put out on them for holding out) Geographic center: Located in Mercer County, 5 mi. SE of Trenton In 1762 the first drive through window was established at Seven Stars Tavern in Salem County Richard M. Hollingshead on June 6, 1933 opened the first drive in theatre on Crescent Boulevard, Pennsauken Township. Today, New Jersey is just one of 4 states that do not have at least 1 drive in theatre. Delaware, Alaska, & Rhode Island are the others. Thanks for the cointest, and good luck with your event! Bawda bang ya'll (that's Southern for...oh well, you get the picture)!

    Poor Lazer...feel better soon!
  6. I'd like to see it come back too. But only it it would be implemented in a way that the note is shown from the time your write your will attend until either the event is archived, you logged a find on it or after special amount of time (one or two weeks since the event). One more thing is that it should work for all three types of events (normal, mega, CITO). I totally concur!
  7. I'm with the drooler...but then again we Bassets have short legs and lazy streaks!
  8. Very interesting concept! I like it!
  9. Congrats! How exciting! I like the following: LittleSprout or GeoSprout for either a boy or a girl WeePee for a girl (could have serious implications for a boy) Geo-D for a boy Happy 2 a.m. feeding!
  10. Update on Poker Coins: The coins have stopped trickling in; we will be putting what we have up on Ebay on January 31st. Please contact me if you have not donated a poker coin but would like to so we can make arrangements. Also wanted to let you know that I listed three (3) new auctions tonight on Ebay. 13. My family and friends call me "thrifty" (their nice way of saying, "cheap") so I just couldn't part with the price they're asking for these screen protectors. I took some good quality clear packing tape, cut a piece to fit my screen plus just a little overlap, and have found it works perfectly to protect my screen. When it gets a little yucky after a few months of use I just remove it, clean the excess adhesive off with rubbing alcohol and put a new piece on. I have years worth of screen protection for just a few dollars (and I also have tape around for mailing off those coin trades)!
  14. This was not in a cache, but right next to one. Someone had taken a 50lb rice bag (like the ones purchased by eating establishments) and stuffed a dead deer carcass into it before dumping it next to the cache. I got a chuckle as I teased my caching companion about the whole "mystery meat" debate over Chinese food (still tastes good to me)!
  15. I found something similar called "A Cache Within a Cache" and it was released as a TB. Check this one out: TBJWPN
  16. I use this website to convert my text to HTML for cache pages. It's free, and it has worked like a charm for me! http://www.newbiehangout.com/convert/
  17. As the proud owner of a nano in the woods cache, I have to disagree when I hear that this is a sign of a hider that is "lazy" or "cheap". Our hide is part of a series and is a nano glued to a pinecone hidden in a tree in the woods. It takes you on a beautiful hike, contains clues, and hasn't been a really hard find for most (unless there are a lot of unlogged DNFs). We make it clear on the cache page that it is a nano in the woods so that folks have the choice of searching for it or not searching for it. We took great pains to hide it and the feedback on it has been positive. It's been said before and I'll say it again...there is something in this sport for everyone. Hunt what you like to hunt, have fun, and leave the rest for someone else to find!
  18. I bought the WalMart version of under armour (long sleeve, turtleneck) for a little over $10.00 and wore it in 19 degree F weather yesterday with only a long sleeve t-shirt underneath. I was snug as a bug in a rug! Maybe I'm just cheap but I can't justify the price for the "real thing"!
  19. This is not a coin, but rather an "evil" geocache container that was donated with some coins for the auction. Would be a great container for someone up North where there is a lot of snow... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=260205302871 Happy bidding!
  20. Yay! I got mine ordered! I was too late for the LE though...darn!
  21. 1. Participating - Yes 2. Received Name - 1/19/2009 3. Mission Complete 4. Mission Arrived
  22. I'm sitting here laughing my tail off! The cats know I'm up to something... Thanks for this most entertaining thread!
  23. Because "if you make it, they will come"
  24. I am happy to say that I became the proud owner of an Earth Turtle and TWO Rainforest Jewels this week (of course, I'll be eating Ramen Pride for a month, but it was worth it)! I vote for a baby turtle, same shape, different metals... But anything you come up with will be beautiful I'm sure! I just hope I can get in on the ground floor so I don't have to auction off my first born dog for one!
