Have you updated your firmware of the GPS? Are you SURE you're using POILOADER 2.5.2? -

hisgrace1 - If only someone had some sort of tutorial or something...wouldn't that be useful? -

Huntski, I don't know where to begin... Would you be kind enough to read the tutorial and then come back with any further questions? http://pilotsnipes.googlepages.com/index.html -

Absolutely not, but sure try mine for 1 week, get your feet firmly on the ground then change. There's not much to it -

Have you accidentally installed 2 versions of POILOADER? You need to double check and make sure there's only one installed. Also, you could try jjreds macro and see if that helps you. Just flick through the last 3 pages of this thread for more info. -
No problem, just clarifying that the problem with the 7xx series crashing/shutting off is fixed.

Yes, but update your gps firmware first. Needs to be >4.0

1 - It only stops the nuvi trying to "stick" to roads, if the cache is close to a road, the nuvi main map screen will try to keep the "car" icon the "road" rather than show you off in the grass/countryside. 2 - The sat screen is not a map, it is north orientated. 3- No read my website: http://pilotsnipes.googlepages.com/finding.html -

Quick fix, before you run the cache, do a filter in GSAK for everything EXCEPT found caches. Advanced fix: Move to jjreds macro -

Perhaps you'd like to share with other new people what part of the procedure confused you. That way we can help new people and we can update the tutorial if there are unclear parts. -
Fair play! Thanks jjreds

Guys I'm sorry about the 2 x run to get it to work, I really don't know what to say, I can't reproduce here. When/if jjreds produces his macro to allow to run on the current filter set, there will be no advantages to using this macro any more - par the tutorial that was created for it. Stay tuned for jjreds!! (@ jjreds - no pressure!!) -

This has already been done for you mikr!! jjreds macro does this: http://jjreds01.googlepages.com/download Support thread: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=195389 @Red90 I honestly don't have a clue what could be causing that. I have 4000+ caches in my database, when I run my macro it never needs a second go to get it to work. At this stage though, now that you are a "veteran" of paperless nuvi geocaching, you too should be trying jjreds macro. It might fix whatever problems you were having and has bunch of new features too! -

This is the first I can remember hearing about this. By big, how big? 20,000 + ? What happens on the second run that doesn't on the first? What error messages do you get? -

You are using version 2 of the macro? On my system (far slower than your quads!!) it takes about 5 mins for 4000ish caches... -

I am using the latest 7.5 final (just released on the 15th of Jan) with no issues at all. The macro was checked for compatibility with the 7.5 beta run which went on for a good few months and so I think we would have seen some issues before that. This *may* be your machine? -

Don't get confused guys...there's TWO macros, mine is the simple one, and jjreds is the advanced one. weylan - Try using jjreds macro and see if that fixes problems for the 500.
