  1. Imagine if your State Parks system said that it was planning to institute a permit system (including a placement fee). Would you put up a huge fuss about it because they're charging you to use 'your' land? Would you prefer they ban geocaching altogether? If they did ban geocaching, I bet that your opinions on paying for a permit would change quite quickly. I can think of one Provincial Park system that demanded that we remove existing caches and refrain from placing new ones. I'd love to be able to pay $25 and place a cache in a Provincial Park! But, then again, I'm not morally opposed to being asked to pay the piper.
  2. I'll add myself to the list of ex-Windsorites that got to flee to the outside world Look for EGG events when they come up, or else email Othum or jtee or one of the other prominent Windsor/Essex cachers to see if they would want to go mob caching ever. I've met a few of the Windsor cachers and they all seem quite nice.
  3. Never has this emoticon been more appropriate. As the others have said, you've had a bad shopping experience, not a bad caching experience. As for the cache that you did try, micros on large pieces of machinery often give experienced cachers trouble. My first GPS was a little bit over $100. My current one was about $500 when I bought it. Both are cases of money well spent. Fortunately, I didn't have to try to buy an ounce of patience first!
  4. OK, I like that one. I need to replace "I dislike Windsor and Sarnia because they're gross" anyways. I will be sad to see it go - the more people who know about Windsor and Sarnia's grossness, the better we'll all be - but I'm pleased that you are continuing the narcissa quotation tradition. I see no reason as to why you shouldn't promote the Narcissa trad. to a Narcissa multi! She's worth a multi Aww, it's been a while since we hijacked a thread with . It's been to long, hasn't it? **Leans over**

  6. Are you suggesting he break into time capsules? I think he was looking to make his own, not find other people's.
  7. So much fail... There are very few actual 'rules' to geocaching, but signing the log book is one of them. I hope that all of those cache owners are deleting your logs.
  8. Because nothing says awesome, like a cliffy tube in an elementary school parking lot...
  9. I didn't hide the ring in a fake cache, but Narcissa and I got engaged over the weekend! We celebrate Thanksgiving with our family at some cottages on a lake in eastern Ontario, and I took her out to an island and proposed! Narcissa
  10. Well, that's why you make it a skirtlifter in the Walmart parking lot! Remember, the ultimate goal is for every cache to match the find count of Vaclavak in a single day!
  11. Oh right... Walmart parking lot micro it is!
  12. Who'd you go see? Was it this past week's game against Saskatchewan? My second favourite team was playing there this past Saturday - The one that's playing the Riders!
  13. unless someone insisted that it's gross Hamilton has CFL team. I'm ok with Hamilton because they afford me an opportunity to see my beloved Bombers should I ever find myself there at the right time!
  14. That would depend on how the plaque reading is labeled. If when you do the cache you label it as a waypoint it invokes the .1 rule. I you label it as Question to be Answered? it doesn't. Hooray! You are the first poster to recognize this distinction, which is based on chosen waypoint type rather than only upon the presence or absence of a container (though that will work as a simple summary 90+ percent of the time). Congratulations on having an advanced understanding of the listing guidelines. This is my all-time favourite reviewer note. It's from a ten waypoint (Question to Answer) plus a final cache.
  15. Plastic kids stamps are the Letterboxing equivalent of LPCs. What isn't awesome about finding a good multi? A lot of decent Letterboxes (and remember - both games have their fair share of lameness) are essentially clue-based multis.
  16. great! so why don't you just keep it to yourself? Are you Eddie Francis or something? Why do you care to defend Windsor so fiercely? If you didn't want this argument to happen, perhaps you and some of the others shouldn't have put up such a fight about how Windsor isn't gross. Explain to me how Windsor isn't gross. The Weather Network named Windsor the Smog Capital of Canada, and is largely considered to be the Cancer Capital of Canada(<- Google that - see what the first result is). How is that not gross? Also, I've explained why Windsor is not a place I would suggest anyone visit.
  17. I need only to turn my head ~90 degrees to the left, and believe me, we don't need to try to convince each other that Windsor isn't exactly a desirable place to visit. Nevertheless, our last two posts nicely add evidence that Windsor is in fact gross, whereas you have not provided any evidence to the contrary, other than that you feel that a native Windsorite's assessment of his hometown (which he left at his first opportunity to do so) is not valid. There are three groups of people in Windsor. Those who hate it and leave, those who love it for no apparent reason other than that it's the only thing they know, and those who sit and complain about it but never leave. Believe me, there are many Windsorites who won't drink the Windsor Kool-Aid and see it for what it is - a dirty, grimy little hole in our otherwise lovely province. My opinion on my hometown is anything but mindless - it is, in fact, quite informed.
  18. no, because you think it's gross (if that's even true). that's not an argument. Yay for the Cancer Capital of Canada!
  19. ask yourself. you're the one who tried to prove people wrong continuously. had you realized that it was all subjective, you'd never have started arguing and would've stopped posting days ago. but no, you insist that you have to be right. subjective? try again. But I have fun arguing about how gross Windsor is. And gross it is. too bad you lost that argument long time ago. Once again... Native Windsorite here... I fled because Windsor is gross
