  1. I think I just got shook down for my cache site. My cache has been active since 2007. It is pretty remote so it doesn't get that many visits. But the dog and I go out and swap boxes and swag now and then. Anyhow out of the blue I get this email: I found this strange since this has never come up in the last 7 years. So I reply: I get this response: So I dig a little, find the form and email a copy of the approved form with this note: I didn't hear anything back and thought nothing more about it. But this morning I get a log on my cache: This makes me think that the reviewer got a request to put a cache at my cache's location and just made up the 'lost form' thing so he could archive my cache. I haven't checked with the park manager or other cache owners yet. Does anybody else think this is strange?
  2. I released these 3 state flags in 2007 from Pennsylvania. The TX and MN flags made it their states. But the MS flag is floating around the NorthEast. TheMystic's Texas Flag TheMystic's MN Flag TheMystic's MS Flag Mileage has always been screwed up on these for some reason.
  3. Here is one in my area: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...e9-a91d042b652a
  4. I was just browsing an old cache in my area and ran across this interesting owners notation log: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...fd-bbcb2be50053 I think it is great that our quaint little country community is 100% honest. And I found the additional physical logs without online logs thought provoking. Are these people that just stumble across the cache, actual cachers that forget to do the log entry, or cachers that choose to stay anonymous? Interesting.
  5. Yep, hanging exactly in that place for me too. Except I am trying to load a track from Garmin Training Center. I haven't spent any time trying to figure it out yet.
  6. Got my shipment today - about 3 weeks beginning to end. Consistent quality which is about a 4 out of 5 I would say. A few little blips and the edges are a little drippy. But I'm very happy for the small investment.
  7. Watch on Ebay for the next week or so for that model popping up in your area. Got the serial # on that warranty card you never sent in? Also you might be able to prove ownership by the waypoints and tracks that are probably still on there. Get the cops involved if you find one that fits the bill.
  8. I just placed my Pathtags order. The reason I chose these vs a coin is mainly the price. I'm not into trading items. I'd rather use these as a sig. item that people will enjoy finding and keeping if they like. Also a lot of people talk about how geocoins are trackable. From what I've see they are only trackable for a couple of hops before they go missing. So 'tracking' really isn't important to me. I'm looking forward to receiving my tags and will share a pic. when they show up.
  9. I spent a weekend in Monongahela National Forest. Some of the greatest views I found had grafitti all over the nearby rocks. It really ruins it for me. I seek the wilderness to get away from things like this. I was looking to cache a small part of the Appalacian Trail in my local area. As I read through the various caches I heard complaints of graffiti also. This was in the section around Hamburg, PA. Do you see graffiti in your backcountry? What part of the world are you in? Also can anyone up in the Hamburg area recommend a good weekend (one night) hike in/out caching segment of the AT?
  10. Thanks all - lots of good suggestions here. Here is the actual cache: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...41-c8523e910dfd GC3F79 No I haven't visited it yet. Sounds like the seal on the ammo can is broken.
  11. The closest cache to my house was logged 12/06 as being totally soaked and all items worthless. I have been watching the cache and nothing has changed. Before I go to it I was thinking about bringing a new container/log. I sent an email to the owner but it bounced back (no longer a valid address). Would it be appropriate for me to replace the container/log? And possibly adopt it (put some swag in it and watch it)?
  12. I think it would be interesting to see pictures of the current contents of a cache. And it should be helpful for the cache owner to monitor when maintenance should be done. Is it OK to post a pic of current cache contents?
