  1. I have been caching with my daughter who is 3.5yrs for about a year now. I will not take her on any caches that require much bushwacking if any. The best caches that I have found are those in parks so that she can play on the equipment at some point. Also she does not like to find micros or nanos. No stuff to trade. to her that Mc Toy is really cool and worth hanging out with Dad.
  2. With the nuvi once you get to the spot with the driving directions the swithch over to pedestrian and off road. So far has worked better than my 60csx
  3. The nuvi 350 boes on road, off road, pedestrian, and much more. I have been told though that it is not good to get dirt between the screen and housing. But all around I have had great luck with it. And it is a little bigger than a deck of cards with a small flip up atena on the back. Some of the navigation gpsrs are a little bulky. The only complaint that I have about it is that there is no good way to stow it once you get down to the location. Yes it does have a leather pouch but that is it.
  4. I too am faily new to geocaching. I take my two year old daugther out. We currently have 14 finds. We try to stay within 20 miles of home. Try to look for caches no more than a 3 star difuculty. Make sure to use lots of sun screen and bug spay. And make suer that if there is play equipmet near the cache I let my daughter play for a while. Because even the best two year old in the world can only take so much caching with out a break. Have fun. One of my daughters favorite things to do with Daddy is as she calls it "treasure hunting."
  5. I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 that works fro both.
  6. I too am new to geocaching. I take my 2 1/2 year old daughter out. She is my helper. Matching hat and all. We try to stick with caches that the terain is no more than a three and places that I think the bugs will not be too bad. Where we live the ticks are horrible.
