  1. I've already tried that. It works when I'm just viewing the map, but when I begin to follow a route, the labels come back. Even if I turn user waypoints off. These are not "waypoints" that I'm inputting. They're points created by mapsource when I'm plotting a route. I don't know if those are the same thing. jjasper13
  2. I'm gearing up for canoe/kayak season and I'm inputting routes into my 60CSx with US topo. Everything works fine until I look at the route/map on my GPS. My GPS labels as many of the route points as possible and tries to display them. I can't see the route because of all the labels. I've went through the menus and tried to declutter everything, but I can't get rid of this problem. Can anyone help me? To fully understand, you need to look at a picture of the screen. Thanks. jjasper13
  3. Maybe I'm not the first to realize this. Okay, I was playing around with POI loader when it deleted my pre-programmed 2 gig card. I was totally peed off. Then I discovered that I could load the DVD version onto the SD card with NO UNLOCK CODE!!! My computer tells me that the maps "have not been unlocked for your GPS" but it works anyway. The SD card must still have the "built in" code required to accept the maps for City Navigator NT v8. Of course, you'll want to purchase your very own DVD version if this happens to you but you don't have to use the unlock code!! jjasper13
  4. OMG, I was downloading the WRONG FILE!!! Stuck over on the right side of the page where I downloaded that other file sits the actual basemap patch. http://www8.garmin.com/software/MapSourceU...asemapPatch.exe It took me five minutes and it works perfectly!! jjasper13
  5. I recently did a computer clean up and reinstalled all of my software. I re-installed US Topo. Everything works fine until I try to open the "US Topo East" tab in mapsource. Then it locks up and gives me this message. "There is a problem with this Garmin Application". The only file name contained within the message is TDB_REGIONDIR.CPP-160-6.12.4.0 Then it will not even let me use mapsource unless I re-install US Topo and then it locks up all over again if I try to use East. It's weird because it didn't do this the first time I had it installed. It worked fine. It asks me to install the topo basemap patch on Garmin's website. So I go to http://www8.garmin.com/software/MapSource_6124.exe. I install this patch but it does not help. It locks up every time. Does anybody have a fix for this?? Sorry if this is a repeat. I did a search, but came up empty handed. jjasper13
  6. Sorry if this topic has already been discussed. I didn't really know how to search for it. Here's my situation. I'm under the assumption that I get 2 GPS user licenses with City Navigator NT. I've got a 60CSx and my son has a 76CSx. Can I get one copy of City Navigator NT, unlock both our units AND be able to use the program on both our computers for transferring maps, routes, etc??? Or do I have to use just one computer to transfer maps, etc to both units? Thanks, jjasper13
  7. I've recently purchased this program and I'm having problems with finding addresses. Finding address in town seems to be okay, but I'm having problems finding rural addresses. For example. I'm trying to find this address(fake address). 2890 Hwy 194 South Grayson, WV 45815 City Navigator asks for 3 things. City Number(street) Name (street) Well, its able to pull up Grayson, and often it can also find Hwy 194, but it cannot find the 2890 to save it's life. So, I'm only able to find the road, but not the address. That is a major pain in the butt. Is there anything I can do to correct this?? jjasper13
  8. I don't mind having 2 cards. It's not that big of a deal to do a quick switch. I actually don't plan on using Topo that much outside of my home state. The 64 MB card can hold my state easily with extra room to spare. But a 2 gig card is cheap. I may just get one and put all my topo on it. Then I'd never have to worry about transferring maps at all. jjasper13
  9. Okay, I've got a 60CSx with a 64 MB micro SD. I've got US Topo on my computer and have been transferring maps, etc with no problems. I just bought City Navigator NT V8 on a micro SD card. The card is 2 gigs and is only about 1/2 full. I was hoping I could end up putting my topo maps on my new 2 gig card along with my City Navigator and just overlap the maps(which one would do if they bought the software on DVD). However, the new 2 gig card says NOT to try to download maps to the card or all my City Navigator will be lost. I realize that every time you transfer maps, it's just erases the card and starts fresh, but is there anyway around this?? I really hate to switch out cards just to go from City Navigator to Topo. Could I not somehow transfer the information to my computer and then send it all back to the card(along with my Topo maps)??? Also, what about backing the card up?? I'd hate to lose the maps while I'm goofing around with it. I could have saved a lot of effort by just getting the DVD instead. Any help would be appreciated. jjasper13
