  1. I spoke to the cache organizer about 3 weeks ago and it in not happening this year unfortunately. I poked around a bit looking for a suitable venue but came up empty. We really enjoyed the event and the idea..... DD & PB Perhaps the organizers gave up after last year's problems. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=286548 B.
  2. Tolls, as in TOOLS You may want to visit the GSAK forums... you can search the answers to this question and more there.... DD
  3. 19 Oct 2013, Welland FYI http://coord.info/GC4PCB4 For those cachers that may want to attend.... DD
  4. Maybe try searching on a jeep site... I'm sure if it can be done, some jeep'er has added waypoints to their GPS
  5. I believe that is also why it is suggested that caches not be hid great distances from the owners home... it becomes an issue for maintenance.... or checking on it if it accrues a number of consecutive DNF's as well Maybe someone can retrieve your cache container and movie it along like a trackable through caches to get it close enough to you so you can retrieve it and re-deploy it closer to home.... Let us know how you make out... DD
  6. Just wondering if it worked PDXROSE ?
  7. The geocaching app will do it, as will others as well, but the only way to find ONLY the ones at rest stops is to specifically select them, or bookmark them, or retrieve them as some sort of Pocket Query.
  8. You may also find this very useful: http://garmindakota.wikispaces.com/ DD
  9. A very quick "SEARCH" of the forum netted me " Posted 02 May 2013 - 05:55 AM The "mapsource" version is for installing on the computer (and then transfer to the gps) The img version can be copied in the Garmin folder of the gps or SD." Which did you download?
  10. I use the script as well and have been a premium member for over 10 years now.... so it's not just for stealing revenue.... Anyone else with a Etrex 20 having this problem? Let me get this straight: You are on a Groundspeak web site asking for help with a plug-in that cheats Groundspeak out of revenue. Is that a pretty accurate summary?
  11. It says further down that "It would rate higher if not for the 3 caches / day limit" Maybe this is the new version of the "free software" - a limit instead if reduced functionality DD
  12. Exactly... I'd recommend trying GSAK witht he nag screens (I used it that way for 6 months)if all your doing is sorting and loading caches.... I think you'll becaoem an addict just like the rest of us given time )
  13. What's a "lost and found event"? DD
  14. I do have one, you can email me for details if you'd like
  15. Reloading the app fixes it usually DD
  16. I think the newest version is 4.0, may want to search for that......
  17. Kinda like asking which car is good: Ford, Toyota, Honda or Nissan....
  18. LOL I did my first caches on the same unit.. almost threw it off the escarpment one day as it lost signal every 30 seconds or less.... DD
  19. If you use GSAK you can import them into it (and log the caches through it) on your computer, but there is no way to view, edit or retrieve the cache notes on the GPS itself
  20. Sage advice.... the touchscreen on the Oregon works fine, wet or dry.....even nearly frozen in -26 temperatures... As for the screen protectors I can't say enough about them either.... it saved my GPS and a friends from certain death... BUY ONE DD
  21. The confusion comes as Garmin does allow the newer handhelds (Montana I believe) to change their pointers... the older models (Oregon and before) do NOT have this option
