    Cache in USA

Here's the contact info for the CBSA (Canadian Border Service Agency) https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/contact/menu-eng.html As far as going across, I wouldn't think that would be a problem, it would be more of a "planning where has local caches that are available within walking distance" Like HockeyHiker19 said, you'll need your passports... Maybe find some potential caches and email the owners to get an idea of the travel time (or at least some local cachers in the potential areas you think might work) You could keep driving and pop into Niagara Falls, there are caches on both sides of the border, you can walk across and there is even a waterfall around you could see... 14. By "they" I assume your talking about Garmin - did you do a firmware update that caused things to change? If so, re-install the previous version. If you haven't, then it's probably not Garmin, but perhaps how your choosing to send the cache database(s) to the device (maybe a setting in GSAK or one of the macros's your using) DD
  15. As far as I understand the info is current as of the DOWNLOAD Date / Time An easy way to test it.... make a short list of 3 or 4 active caches and then don't download it for a few days when it has accrued a few more finds.... If the "new" finds etc are in the downloaded info you have your definite answer... DD
  16. That's the method we use to log my wife's finds (non member) and it works flawlessly DD
  17. You can use sheet plastic (goto a hobby store) or buy purpose made dive slates (wayyy more expensive) the plastic sheet from the hobby store works well, is flexible enough to be rolled up into the pipe (I would attach some sort of lanyard to retrieve it out of the pipe underwater (punch a hole in the corner, put a short length of braided fishing line through it in a loop and put some floating thing on the loop so it floats up and into reach when the cache is opened) These can be written on underwater with a standard pencil, or even the cheap"BIC" plastic barrel mechanical pencils. That's all I ever used when teaching to write on slates and they lasted years and years of heavy diving. I still have some home made plastic dive slates from years ago and they still work fine (after years of writing and erasing) although the plastic will start to get brittle from sun exposure (at 100ft that wont be much of an issue) As for directions, if your placing them that deep you'll want explicit directions as the time at depth thee on air is very limited, even on Nitrox you don't have a lot of time to be searching around for something, struggling to open it, sign it, replace and continue on.... I would recommend shallower placement, but that's my 2 cents.
  18. IDIOT! I had set a specific date criteria from a previous search.... Thanks for the kick in the pants! DD
  19. I just ran a PQ to list all the virtuals in Ontario (I know there are at least two new ones) and they do NOT show up in the PQ. Older one's (original) do... Anyone experiencing similar results? DD
  20. Anyone selling or know where to get an Oregon 550 ? Looking to replace our deceased unit. I realize these are out of production but we know the unit well and like the interface (read: no new learning curve) DD
  21. ditch the "getting close" message and give us attributes...
  22. Add us to the list... disappointed (so far) with the "New" app and this "feature" is near the top of the list.... I pretty certain I know I'm getting close, after all, that's why I would have this app loaded, to find a cache.... Well-played, sir.

    Disabled caches

Thank you for helping to clean up the database. As someone who occasionally spends holidays in the Maritimes, I really appreciate your efforts to help clear out the chaff. I notice a number of these do not have "need maintenance" logs.... why not post one if you believe it truly "needs maintenance" this will bring it to reviewers attention and also to the CO's attention.
