  1. I did not realize the USB/MS&T thing was an issue until my company gave me ThinkPad T60 that only had USB ports. What I did discover was the docking station included a serial port and that appears to work. My question is – if the docking station has a serial port – is there some sort of adaptor that I can get that will proved a serial port so I don’t have to lug around the docking port when I travel?
  2. I called Garmin. They were not going to help unless I sent them $150 as it is out of warranty. I went back and looked over my emails and found that the first time I contacted Garmin support about this problem was while the unit was still under warranty. I called Garmin again and they gave me a rma number and told me they would fix the unit.
  3. Good news ! I sent my 60CS to Garmin after phoning them and telling them that the warranty had expired. They put it back on warranty, sent me a different brand new GPSr at no cost. Nice service ! My 60CS will loose satellite reception as soon as there is any cover and many times when there is no cover. I find in many locations that the unit will not acquire satellites. I have followed the suggested steps in resetting the unit and doing an “Auto-Locate" but it still works poorly. Just the other day I went geocaching with a friend that used a Geko. As soon as we stepped into the woods I lost satellite reception. His Geko retained satellite reception during our whole adventure though my GPSmap 60CS never regained satellite reception. I wonder if I have a lemon. Any suggestions on how to approach Garmin on this?
  4. I received my Eagle in 1970 and received my OA Vigil around the same time. I went camping whenever I could and spent most of my teenage years working at Boy Scout summer camps. It was a great time. I got back into Scouting when my son joined Cub Scouts. A friend, who I worked with at summer camp, contacted me and talked me into becoming a Unit Commissioner. He told me it would only take up 1 hour a week. I am now a District Commissioner and only have 1 hour a week to cache. If any of you past Scouters live on Long Island, NY and would like to get back into Scouting, let me know. We may have a place for you to help out. If you are an Eagle Scout in Suffolk County register on line with the local NESA at www.sccbsa.org.
  5. Please put me down for 3 - Very nice!!
  6. I have noticed the same thing. If I hit Identify they seem to show up.
  7. - When you pick your kid up from their friends and the first thing they say is, "We are not stopping on the way home to do a cache!” - When you agree to go on a business trip because it's to a place you have not cached yet. - When you slow down by any wooded areas to see if they are privately owned or not. - When your NEW favorite color is army green.
  8. I just went and looked and "make this page printer friendly" was on the first page I checked Some good ideas about saving paper
  9. Sorry, but I don’t like it. Please give me my old page back or at least give us the option of which one to use. At the very least I hope the “Old Page” option will not go away. I have no use for a calendar on the page. Change happens, but it is not always good.
  10. I just had to try... Why won't it let me delete?
  11. Wow! What a challenge. How about a 26 stage Multi-Cache??
  12. Thanks for the suggestion martmann. I ended up on Ebay and then made email contact with someone that has about 100 bags of 25 Fisherbrand 50ml Centrifuge tubes and offered then to me at $5 per bag. I requested one bag with the shipping being $4. Here is his email if anyone else is interested. labclutter@yahoo.com
