  1. quote: So what's the deal? Why has the flow of new geocaches in the Bay Area dried up recently? Is it a problem getting new caches approved, or is everyone burned out on placing new caches? I'm seriously considering archiving a couple of mine and placing new ones, just so that there is something new for people! Fizzy, we just posted a new one this evening called TarnGCGM07. It hasn't been approved yet and I'm hoping it will before the weekend ends. Got Boots? It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  2. I just wanted to let you know that I placed a nighttime only cache called Wait Until Dark. It may not be for everyone, but if you're the adventurous type and want to get out of your comfort zone, this cache should provide a refreshing change from the 1/1's. If you're up for the challenge, go for it...it's a lot of fun. It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  3. Geez, why didn't I think of that. It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  4. Early this morning I received confirmation from Jimswim that the handwriting appearing on the note I had posted does in fact belong to Fizzy. Pepper's recent post also confirms this. Hopefully, she will be able to post additional handwriting exemplars of Fizzy's for further comparison to Venona. It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  5. Below is the log entry I had mentioned in my last post. Take a close look at the letters "s" and "e and compare them to those appearing on the Venona note. It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  6. I have a log entry from my Superman cache that was authored by either Jimswim or Fizzy. There are many similarities in the handwriting when compared with the Venona note. In particular, the "S's" appearing on both documents are very similar in alignment, size and their trailing tails. If I had the original Venona note I could make a more accurate analysis. It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  7. was the title of the book that Fizzy found the note in that contained the word "REFRACTORY" (his Dec 3rd post). It seems to me that it is More than coincidence that Phineas Magnetron's surname appears in the title of the above book. I'm also guessing that REFRACTORY is the code word used in the first step of the Henrietta 16 Code. It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  8. If you go to this site, you will find the Henrietta-16 Code. This may be the code to use to decipher Venona's coded message. I do not have the patience or time to work on it. Hope this might help. It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  9. early this morning getting Ron's new caches. Sorry girl, I did my baking last night. It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  10. georgeandmary and Fizzy...thanks for the info. Chuguy It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  11. Fizzy, where do you find those solid, round magnets that you and Jimswim use. I haven't been able to find them around here. It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end
  12. I'm serious as a heart attack about that envelope in the cache. As far as hints go...the photos( especially #3) are pretty good. If you can find Tao House, this one should be a cakewalk.
  13. Hey girl, you're gonna have to try harder on that one. I saw an envelope in the cache with your name on it...Hummm, I wonder what's in it.
  14. another new cache. Wishing ya'll a Happy Thanksgiving and to work off all of those T-day calories, we placed our first micro cache today. Not sure when it will post but it's called "Tao House Overlook" (GCAE27). Hope you enjoy it! Also, since we will be out of town until Saturday evening, any hints that may be needed will have to wait until we return. Happy trails!
  15. it's been nearly a year since someone has found my Spider-Man cache.
  16. play these numbers for Super Lotto this Saturday: 4-15-22-29-37-40
  17. congrats! Looks like you guys got it just before the big storm hit. What do you mean "wait so long"? My previous cache was 20 days before POI...and it's still waiting for a FTF. Mike
  18. I can only recommend one, theCajun Cache. It's located in Frisco, which is down the road from Breck. However, the mountain and cache will probably be under a few feet of snow in January. We did others in the area, but this one was the most challenging and memorable.
  19. but that was the best I could do. Like I said, too many technical questions for me. I just point the camera and push its little button. It must have worked for Jimswim, since he was FTF this morning...Mike
  20. Yep, it has been awhile and we're probably due for a brew. When you get some free time from your move, try the new cache and we'll catch up on things over some suds. I was also a little miffed that you and others haven't tried the "Pope" cache yet.
  21. You're getting too technical for me Hotfoot. I hope this is what you need: 1. Camera lens: 35mm (is that focal length?) 2. Camera angle: I held the camera parallel to the ground. Would that be 90 degrees? 3. Compass: True Hope that helps. Chugal was my test cacher and she eventually found the cache w/o above info and only used photos from cache post.
  22. I just wanted to post a short note to let you know that I placed a new cache yesterday that may prove to be a challenge for some of you. It’s called “Point of View” (GCA4B6). Any takers to test the concept out before the rains come? BTW…no hints at this time. I'll wait and see what happens.

  24. Pepper...if you do those 4 caches in one day, I'll buy you a beer, some tiger balm and some oxygen. BTW, I placed a travel bug in the Superman cache today so you could be the first to snatch him. Good luck to ya.
