  1. I hate it when there is a list of the original cache contents. The cache is two years old and has had 52 visitors, but the cache owner still keeps the list of original cache contents up. UPDATE THE CACHE PAGE ALREADY! I also hate it when I go to print out a cache page and it has lots of unnecessary graphics or large fonts covering just a few sentences, along with a list of cache contents. I have to go the extra step and cut a paste it to Word, then delete all the extranneous stuff just so I can print it out on one page. That bothers me and wastes my time.
  2. With 90 watchers of 27 caches, I get 3.333...
  3. Um, could you help me? Mine is just a clip art that I found, but the lady has a shotgun, and I primarily use a rifle. I am also part native american with the indian features and the long braids. I would be interested in any ideas that pop up, but if not, I am okay with my same one.
  4. Brian, Did you first make sure your clams were happy?
  5. It would definitely be Tube Torcher for me. Sounds like a really adventerous cache. I wrote the article on it for Todays Cacher, and have wanted to do it since I learned more about it. Anyone want to spring for my airfare?
  6. Go to the Geocaching home page. Then select California. When Geocaching in California comes up, right up at the top you will see the link that says map. Click on that and zoom in, then pan all along your route. When you see a cache right on I-5, click on identify, and get the info for that cache. There are caches in both northbound and southbound rest areas. Be sure to stop by the California Dreaming geocache off Deschutes Rd. I just left two travel bugs there, both headed to Washington. Email me if you have any problems with this.
  7. That's great. I have been going to a lot of trouble finding out the bug's number from previous people that had it (I didn't write it down) and then putting it into the Travel Bug Graveyard. This was when I wasn't able to reach the bug owner.
  8. Over hill, over dale, we have hit the dusty trail as those cachers go rolling along.
  9. And we have a winner! 202 finds, although the last geocacher got spooked and took the cache with him. I hope it doesn't go amiss once he puts it back.
  10. Hey Brian, that's in my area. Is there some way to find out the number of logs in caches nationwide? How'd you know about that?
  11. Oh dopey me! I was looking at Berlington Creek, confirming the number of finds, and I was up to 130 before I realized I could just find the number of logs that were notes or did not finds and subtract that from the total number of logs. Need more coffee.
  12. I would like to know the cache with the most finds. I'm not talking a locationless like yellow jeep, but a regular trading cache (no micros). It is probably one in a large urban area that has been around for over two years. I have one, NYFGBA CNEX, that I adopted that has 61 finds. But it is in a relatively small city. So lets start the bidding at over 100. That's not logs, but legitimate finds. Let's hear it...
  13. I think you should get one of these. No, wait a minute, that's the preffered headgear of Navicachers. My bad.
  14. You are suffering from burnout. You get tired of things that no longer pose a challenge and are easily distracted. I, however, am not. I'm easily amused- will you sell your GPSr to me at a sharply reduced price?
  15. Hey, I want that one! (Only replace the target with a side shot of a bull elk.)
  16. Hey, give macislandgirl a break. I would rather hunt and geocache with someone else too, but if I waited around for someone else, I'd never go. Its always more fun to share stuff with a friend, unless you are antisocial, or maybe just Snoogans!
  17. Dead Horse topic posted by 4 out of ten newbies: The caches are filled with trash. I have found candy wrappers, pennies, and broken McToys. There is nothing good enough to trade for my bent stickers or my new geocaching business card.
  18. As a FTF prize I found a GPSr in a cache. It was a Magellin 3000, but it still worked just fine. I gave it to my brother who got into the sport. And there was the time I was doing several caches in a park. At the first one there was an abandoned bicycle nearby, so I took the bicycle and left my signature Ladybug Magnet. It had no working brakes, but it did save walking all over the park. That bicycle may even be in my garage today- hey, I never said I was an angel. However, the best find I ever had was left by a muggle who discovered the cache and traded up. They left a full Heinekin in a new one of those can cozys. It was on a hot day after several miles, and that beer sure went well with a tin of sardines for lunch. The cache was hidden in a log, so the beer was even cool. Imagine that, my best find ever is banned from caches!
  19. When Sept1c_tank (Richard) was visiting me on his west coast trip, he started out the third morning without his. We raced back to the cache we had done the evening before, but it was not there. Then we turned my house upside down looking for it for almost an hour. Richard finally got a beer and a cigarette and sat down in the backyard to think about it. I got down on my knees and prayed. Guess who found it a few minutes later? Hint: Heavenly guidance always helps. We talked about it as our first find for the day.
  20. he got better..... LMAO!!! (Monty Python anyone?)
  21. I can't believe those are the only two of this type. Anyone else know of another one?
  22. This are not your traditional geocaches. Instead of logging into a log book, these caches involve a journal with an ongoing story, in which the cacher contributes to the story. When you find the cache, read through the story and add your version of what happens next. Here is an example of one in my area: The Bold and the Beautiful in Westwood Hills Do you have one in your area?
  23. Just wanted to say I'm having a great time finding caches in Napa with Huntnlady. Will be up for anything you guys (and gals) come up with. Edit: BTW...sept1c here! (oops) posting on Huntnlady's 'puter.
