  1. Hidden doesn't have the non-event condition (or active either). My only hides over the specified time period were events and my entry has been accepted. I gather from elsewhere that I would have got a rejection at this stage if I didn't qualify.

  3. I've found this from a Lackey on Facebook " 4) Sorry about the confusion. Any cache type with 10 or more Favorite Points will earn you 15 points total. That is not additional to the points earned for each cache type. 5) You collect 4 points for each trackable you drop in a cache."
  4. The 15 points for a cache with 10 or more FPs wasn't in the original version of the scoring which I printed out. When Groundspeak introduced it people started getting confused as to whether or not this meant 15 points in addition to the 5, 10 or 15 for the cache type so they attempted to clarify it with the 15 point limit statement only to generate further confusion. Surely dropping a trackable counts as another task in " Earn points when you log a cache, attend an event, or complete another geocaching task. The number of points vary depending on the task at hand. " and the points are independent of your Found/Attended log ... just like the Friends League scoring to date?
  5. You don't appear to have posted an attended log ....
  6. Sorted (thanks HHL) - not a website problem. I submitted a short log (log A) for GC6M2Y1 on 09 October in order to ensure that I received my International Earthcache Day souvenir. A couple of days ago I deleted this log and submitted a new found log (log B ) in an attempt to keep my logs in the correct order. When trying to delete a photo I accidentally deleted log B and submitted a further one (log C). As expected only log C shows on the website and my totals there are correct. This morning I ran a My Finds Pocket Query which I used with a stats macro in GSAK only to discover that it returned one more find than expected. On checking I found that this query contained both log A and log C. Why has the My Finds Pocket Query picked up log A and is there any way of stopping it from doing so, without of course losing the souvenir?
  7. Using Firefox I'm finding that the tabs in my own profile won't work (just bring up a blank page) but everything is fine if I look at a friend's profile.
  8. I've copied your post into a further (closed) FB group and have asked anyone who is planning an event to contact you via your geocaching profile.
  9. GME is nothing to do with Groundspeak. See post #610 above for an explanation of the current situation.
  10. My email through geocaching.com just said "Would you be interested in setting up a geocache in return for a chocolate hamper from a well known UK brand? " and came from username tomdawkins who had chosen not to send his email address. I checked the profile and found that the account had been set up that day. (edited here for clarity) It was locked at about the same time as Groundspeak responded to my complaint about receiving an apparently commercial post through their system. Tom Dawkins is employed by the marketing company Caliberi - it's rather unfortunate that he shares his name with the Australian behind StartSomeGood.
  11. If you're on Facebook you would be better joining the Geocaching in Scotland group.
  12. What a great welcome to a newbie poster Joluc. Hope Father Christmas brought you some great socks this year ...
  13. Try sending a message to Free Timers - they spend much of the summer cruising and caching along the canals.
  14. In the early days I felt like quitting after email abuse from another cacher. We (the other half has since died) were waiting to gain experience before setting caches – A.N.Other thought otherwise. A few years on I have 20+ active caches whilst A.N.Other appears to have given up caching and his hides are gradually being archived by reviewers due to lack of maintenance. If you enjoy setting caches why let others drive you out? MAN UP and don’t let the (rude word)s win. Do you really want to be remembered as someone who set great caches (OK,in my case this would be by reputation rather than experience) but gave in to the naysayers? If you do – fair enough, get Groundspeak to disable your account and take up knitting.
  15. Never mind what people think about paying. Instead of potentially wasting the landowner's time (and potential goodwill) weighing up your request why not do as has originally been suggested and contact your local reviewer to see if it would be allowed first?
  16. I have dipped in and out of your YouTube video of that walk and checked my found and not found databases. AFAIK there were no caches along that route last October.
  17. It would have been rather a long walk ..... there's more than one Harter Fell in the Lake District and the cache you have quoted is in Eskdale
  18. As no one else seems to have mentioned them yet - the two Pirate's Mystery Trails by Bog Bears are very good.
  19. I checked the original coordinates on Google Earth today and sure enough they were in a field just where my GPSr was pointing ..... There's also a warning about not trampling vegetation while looking for the cache which is a bit difficult when the lane is about the same width as some of the passing vehicles e.g. Network Rail transits .
  20. Being pedantic: why do people insist on calling this Lyme's Disease or Lymes Disease? It's Lyme Disease after the eponymous town in Connecticut. And yes, I do take it seriously having known three people who have contracted it - two orienteering in Scotland and the other walking in Dorset.
  21. Several caches mentioned above but none of them are yours as per the point of this thread
