  1. I like the challenge of finding a micro, we aren't in an urban area more rural so finding them can be more difficult some times because of the different place that you can hide them with in the ground zero circle. I also like to hid micro but not like some(thow's that don't want them to be found) I want mine to be found and to here the wise cracks that come back from people trying to find them.
  2. I am sorry, I don't agree with you Greenthumb. All the caches that I have done of yours have been more than wonderful - even the "stair way to?" that you arched. As far as the amount that you place, I think that some have more time to place caches then others do, more knowledge of where to put them, or can come up with more Ideas than others. Some of us have more of an analytical mind set in placing cache than others. HAVE FUN, ENJOY CACHING. If you have a good idea where to place a cache, place it. Maybe I started something too sensitve for some to handle. I do highly disagree with Niskibums assement of Greenthumbs practices. There are others that may have more of a problem with "placing too many caches too quickly", with no one in particular in mind when I say that, just a comment for you all to consider. HAVE FUN, ENJOY CACHING All this post was about was to say LET US ALL STOP BASHING CACHES. Micros just happend to be the ones that have been the brunt of the bashing here in Spokane as of late. And Oh did I mention HAVE FUN, ENJOY CACHING
  3. I think that some of you got the idea of why I started this topic. One give the cache a chance it might satisfy some ones need but then agian why was it put there research is the best way to put a cache out there. Two go have fun If you don't like the cache find a polite way to say it. If you know that it is one that you won't like don't go. Three e-mail the person that set the cache out there find out why they put it there and if you dont think that it meet their goal than ask if they wouldn't mind some suggestion to make it better. I wasn't trying to complane about the puzzle caches they have there place, I was using it as a example of the caches that I am not fond of. As i said be for hats of ot those that have the savey to hide and to do they and more power to you all.
  4. I am tired of hearing the bashing going on in the spokane area. I do understand that some have been put out in areas that are not best suited for any cache. but we have had enough of hearing about it. It's time to move on and start to try to help and teach other to be more responsible hiders and not be negitive sour stuck up sob's. time to drop the hard feelings and start to creat a chapter that is fun loving. I'm about to turn my back on this chapter and sit back to how long it takes for it to fall apart for I don't think it will take long the way it is going right now that's only my opion though, I guess that I am just a little disgusted with the attude that I see in some that are in "elected " possision.
  5. alot of cachers in our area are using the capsells as micro caches and making challanging finds for others
  6. With no other post on magellan site tells me that the problems that they have are just a little deeper than they want to admit to or that it will take a little longer to come up with a solution to the problem that they came a cross. I think that we to have a responsiblity to help make any caching safe for us to find and be responsible cachers as well when meeting the public and not to ofend them when the cords are off like they were. Big companies get more advertisement then we do as a group of cachers and can cause us more grief than we need and it is to our advantage to help them do it the way we have set up our caches, responsibly. In that sense we should be involved in helping them get it right, if not for our sport of geacaching.
  7. I can tell you that I have been watching this treasure hunt from the time that the second set of caches were put out and that warning was never there till today. If someone knew that the cords were off why didn't they contact magellan about it so that they could take care of the problem before the grand entrance of all the cachers at the front door. Garmin may be wise not to have tried this "it's best to be thought a fool then to remove all doubt" I may continue to watch this hunt with morbid curiousity to see and laugh at all the mistakes magellan will continue to make. To those that are still in the hunt good luck. I wouldn't even want a hat at this time.
  8. cadence(oddtodd) wrote after ordering posted July 24, 2003 06:25 AM Well, I can see that the prices for the Capsule keychains individually are the same as local, but the quantity discount further down the page would be a great way for Geocaching groups to get a large quantity of these - everyone could pitch in a few dollars and get a better deal. It's a matter of determining how much you are willing to spend to get a GREAT deal. They do that at Costco too, but there doesn't seem to be a membership fee here. When I first started GC'ing, I had no idea where these capsule keychains could be purchased. I doubt they are available everywhere that Geocaching is. Looks like anyone (Not just the U.S. folk) now have the opportunity to purchase what they want. There may not be any discount, but just a question, if you are buying these locally, are you supporting a fellow Geocacher? Does the local place you are purchasing these from offer to engrave/personalize them? Personally I think it will be better to be able to have them put "This is part of a game, please visit www.geocaching.com" and that way I don't have to figure out how to adhere a waterproof sticker to the outside of my Micro-Cache. I went to the site, clicked on the Large Capsule keychains, ordered 25 with the above text and the total came to 73.75. I wanted to find out how much shipping would be - I clicked on the link and it said - Standard Shipping ($0.00) - U.S.P.S. First Class ($3.05) - U.S.P.S. Priority Mail ® ($4.00) - UPS Ground ($5.10) - UPS 3 Day Select ($7.12) - UPS 2nd Day Air ($10.18) - U.S.P.S. Express Mail ® ($18.00) - UPS Next Day Air Saver ($22.62) - FedEx 2day ($25.46) - FedEx Priority ($25.46) Price for these at REI in Spokane is 3.95 each. If I chose Standard Shipping - each capsule costs me 2.95. Save $25. Hmm. Like it. That's a Movie Rental and a Big Pizza. If I was in a hurry, and wanted it UPS 2nd Day Air? ((73.75 + 10.18)/25)= 3.36 per capsule. Save $14.75. Cool. That's about two movie tickets. I'm not trying to sell them, and I will not benefit monetarily from the sale of anything on the aforementioned website, except that I will not be spending so much to make really cool caches for others to find. posted on gps garage sale New geocaching supplies they aren't list with the quanities yet but soon will be. If you click on the items you will see the price breaks.
  9. I've heard from some cachers in spokane can't make it on the 4th of October because of a simulated emergency exercise. I know that you can't get a time when all can be there just thought that I would pass it along.
  10. sounds like we'll be there LadyStevenson put it on the calander we'll have to talk to Cadance and talk them into going as well.
  11. thanks for your understanding I just wanted to get this site out there for others to see sorry for the comments I may have been to sensitive we work hard to put it together to have someone try to undermind your work. you aren't so bad after all just miss-understood you question, or that it was a question at all.

  13. I set this up because we had people asking where to get the micros and all if you want to do the same fine set up a web site and sell them your self my Idea was just to give everyone a place to get the micros. And this was one way that I could help in that respect. To get that 15% you do have to sell. You still get the quanity price breaks.
  14. yes I actualy created the site after finding the compamy and they worked with me on ceating it. By the way If you order more the price will go down at defferent quanities. click on the picture and you will see the price breaks.
  15. recently I came a cross a company that sells mini capsules and if you wanted enough of them you could get them at a discount as well. They also were looking for partners to sell them. I responded to them and thought about all of the cachers out there that like to hide the smallest cache possible. Here is your chance you can even have the engraved with what ever you like on them, Such as geocaching.com, please don't remove, Official game peice, ect. You can check it out on www.geocachingsupplies.com. We have alot of other thing that you can use as trade items, keychains, bottle openers, ect. all can be personalize. thanks for your time good luck on your next hide I look forward to finding it.
