Hi I am new to geocaching and I have logged 1 trackable item. I would love to know more info about they work. I have looked all over and there is not much info on them maybe someone here could help me. First if you take a trackable item how long do you have to place it in another cache? Second if you have two trackable items can you place them both in the same cache? Lastly can you make a trackable item? It sounds like you can but I am not sure and if you can how do you? Thanks, That guy has a lot of water geocaches I think I will put it the the part of Marina del Ray that is a beach for kayaks only. I could attach it to... -The buoy that tells the sail boats and motor boats not to enter the beach area (You can only swim in a netted off part of the beach. But who would want to eww!) -The wall before the docks. -Water marker. A map HERE! Michael Kane

Hmm ya well a few new ideas 1.Ask the Coastguard they have a small dock. -HERE!- 2.Where the basins end that is public area mabe there somewhere. -HERE!- 3.There are rocks to the area that goes out to the ocean.-HERE!- All of thease are in more traffic with mostly sailboats trying to get out but it is still safe I go there all the time. Ok thanks! What about my second idea? Attaching a geocache to a fishing bobber and putting that in the water so the geocache would be on the bottom the the marena floor and the bobber would be floating on top? Michael Kane

Hi I go kayaking a lot in Marina del Rey and I wanted to place a geocache on a buoy -a link to a satilite image - HERE! note the white specs in the water are the buoys. Can I place a cache here you do need a kayak to get to it. I use a sit on top sea kayak. I think it is fun but I don't want unexperienced people out near moving boats. Or there GPS to fall in the water! If I can have a experienced geocache person help me out here that would be great! Thanks Michael Kane P.S. If I can put it on the buoy can I tie a geocache to a string and attach the string to a fishing bobber and place that in the water?

I am new to geocaching also, I went out and got a Etrex venture CX at Wall Mart and it works great very cool. But now for the same price you can get a HC Etrex venture HC witch is said to be better some how. Do note that the venture does not have a cord with it but I got it and saw that my camera cord work fine! I am very happy with it! Michael Kane

I have a mac no mapsource.

Hi I just got a Garmin eTrex Venture CX and I waned to use the program GMapToGPX to make a route to my airport and load it to my GPS. I have and it worked I get to the airport and I still have all of those uneeded waypoints that make up the route to the airport. With the Tracks program on the garmin you can turn on and off loged trips and backtrack. With no waypoints taking up room. My question is can I make Tracks using GMapToGPX and load them into the GPS? Any help would be soooo nice. Thanks Michael Kane P.S. I have a mac but if you can do it with a PC still tell me how! Thanks again.

I download it and it trys to install it and a message pops up saying -The following disk images failed to mount -LoadMyTracks.drr corrups image-- Any where else I can get it? Thanks Michael Kane

Hi I have just bought a etrex legend CX and I have a few questions any help would be great. First I have a micro SD card 1GB ScanDisk should this work in my GPS if so how do I save to it? Also can I try to make a more detaled maps for my GPS I was thinking if it was posible to make a map from google maps. One last thing ,there is this geo cache HERE! That I have been having trouble with I know the parlor number but how to I add it to the coordinates? My GPS format is 00°00.000' Any help would be so helpfull! Thanks Michael Kane

Hi I just a ordered the Etrex Venture CX and I cant wait for it to come I have a question about software I have a PC but I like my mac better will the GPS work with my mac? Also When I make a way point in the description area how mutch room is there could I add in the hint for the cache there? Money no problem! I bought it! What made me change my mind was the Always low prices at Wall Mart! AND COLOR SCREEN! Also the good costumer service people talk about.
