  1. We decided to go to MINNESOTA from Oostburg Wisconsin to do some geocaching. It was heard that MINNESOTA had great caches and well kept up. Well after driving 5 1/2 hours and taking in about 20 caches, we were extremely concerned that rhe info was wrong. All but one had little or no swag, soaking wet boxes, rusted out tin boxes, no signing sheets and not found near coordinates and many not found. We tried our hardest to dry or fix the ones we could but many need fixing yet. Anyone that plant boxes should not lose site of them or if you don't want to keep them up, ask for help. After trudging through the woods infested with ticks and mud, we would like to keep the game going. In the Midwest, we need to review these sites every couple of months.
  2. Thanks for all you that helped me understand my mistake. Too bad I still don't get why someone would want to geocache in this way...yes I don't get it. Have a great day.
  3. I don't get it. I'm new to this and trying to understand. I made some TBs this week and took a picture of each and placed on the TB web page. Well within 24 hours I had no less then 75 emails that there were people that have Discovered them. I asked one people why would I be getting these emails that they were discovered and they were not released yet. They said cause we are sitting behind a desk and can't get out to physically gwocaches and that is how we do it. The next person said, then don't put the number on your photo of the TB then. Does that mean I shouldn't name it either, cause you could find it with just the name? What fun is that when you don't even get up and leave the desk? I have since pulled all my photos.
  4. Thanks so much for your help, sorry I may have stepped on some toes for asking a simple question. I'm new to this all and appreciate all the suggestions. The story is a personal story about a perfect stranger willing to help us find our cache, his family heartships and our conversations at the time. We enjoyed talking with him and teaching him the little we know about geocaching and we hope someday that Jake can take his grandson geocaching also. Jake was the one that actually found the cache and it was a delight to see his beaming face when he knocked a hollow sound in the bramble and I said Jake listen to that sound...that is the cache. I will never forget Jake.
  5. I have a story that I would like to remember, is there a place on my account that I can log this story?
