This leads to PROBLEM 2: After deleting the duplicate draft, the smiley is replaced by an exclamation mark (forever):

I've found that if you edit the original log on the cache showing the exclamation mark (even if you do nothing to thg log other than open it for editing and saving it), the extraneous exclamation mark goes away.

  2. I just knew it was too good to be true. It's bringing back some of my old drafts tonight. Not all of them though; of the 5 already logged drafts I had from today for example, only 1 of them is showing up again. And of the 3 finds I made and logged back on New Year's Eve, 2 of them are showing.

  3. Try finding and logging a geocache and see if the souvenir suddenly appears. During August's wheel of challenges, I found an event, a traditional and an AL location (in that order). No easy level souvenir. But as soon as I logged another cache, the souvenir appeared. It could be that the souvenir update check only happens when a cache is logged through the website.

  4. Not disabled so much as partially borked, perhaps...

Some of the searches are still using the old geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx... links and they're fine. But other searches are being routed to the geocaching.com/play/search?... links and some of those aren't quite right by the looks of it. Searching by country and state for example, didn't work for me. Searching by address or postal code went through the old geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx... links and worked fine. Searching by lat/long was routed to a geocaching.com/play/search?... link and appeared to work.

So you've got some that work the old way, some that work the new way and some that just... don't work.

The old advanced search appears untouched so far.

We have that very same situation where we live.  We're still frustrated that because we have apostrophes, we can't view even our last 1000 finds or our hides from our profile, much less all of them.  I really miss that and being able to see what state a cache is located in, and when it was last found.  Our membership payment is pretty soon and we'll probably pay, but I'm not feeling like we get the same value as in previous years. :(

For the time being (until TPTB remove the old code), you can still see your finds here and your hides here (granted, it's not doing it through your profile, but it's better than nothing). It might be worth bookmarking the links.

Note to others: those links are specifically for Trekkin' and birdin' s finds and hides; if you want to use something similar, you'd need to add your URLified name to the end of this link fragment for finds: https://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul= , and, for hides, this fragment: https://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?u=

Does anyone know when the post will be made public and the TB to be unlocked?

While only HQ knows for sure, I would imagine it won't happen until after the WATSON camera is unstowed and takes a picture of the SHERLOC calibration target with the tracking code on it.

+1.  Hamsters not fed since Friday closing time?

I think 'Skip the Dishes' must have just arrived, as the hamsters seem like they're back on the job now and pages are loading quickly again. It's hard to concentrate on spinning those wheels when your stomach is growling!

For those in search of a practical definition for "Power Trail," I offer the age-old analogy that if it looks like a duck, it swims like a duck and it quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck.  Adapting this to the question at hand, If you see a flock of ducks lined up all in a row, and all the ducks are small and wet, and people can bring an extra duck to leave with the flock if a duck is missing, then it's probably a power trail.

And if that's not a mic drop, I don't know what is. Well said!

But I will be pounding my head on the wall a lot more often if I get a lotta "I ain't touching icky germ caches!" Found logs.

I've had this taped up in my computer room for many, many years. I'm afraid you might soon be able to make use of one too...

Good. It sounds like my painted PLA cache may work at least some time. However, it is located in a sunny place to it is as challenging it gets for PLA.

Neither of mine got any direct sunlight, which I'm sure has helped a lot. I also haven't had  any trouble with the PLA absorbing moisture, which has been a pleasant surprise.
