  1. I called Garmin and was told the new 76's autoroute exactly the same as the 60 series units. It is strange that their web site never mentions Auto routing for the 60c/cs
  2. If you don't find a cache, do you always email the cache owner? If not, you would be doing other cachers and the cache owner a service by logging a DNF, it's nothing to be ashamed of, and you didn't find it. I don't see how an email can change the definition of not finding something.
  3. You can download a .pdf of the manual HERE.
  4. eTrex are yellow Legends are blue Caching is better with some one like you.
  5. My Street Pilot III "rubber bands" me to a road, if GPS says I'm 60' off the road, it puts me on the road (no rubber banding in off road mode). That's normally fine, but I have had it tell me I'm off rout, because it thought I transported to the road next to me, without any paved connection to that road. Then It recalculates the rout (the whole time NOT updating the map, and sometimes Not even displaying it), which is fine, unless the exit I need to take comes up before it figures a new rout.
  6. Nose nugget (or nougat, depending on consistancy) will do in a pinch.
  7. Looks like it has more meat on either side of the screen.
  8. I have done my best to scale the two the same, (by making the screen size the same).
  9. Just have a helpful attitude and try to come across that way, maybe remember some stupid mistakes you (non specific) have made to humble yourself before sending the email/PM. P.S. You have a booger next to that buggar hanging out of your nose.
  10. I love that sticker idea, cracked me up.
  11. How involved in a cache theft do you think police will get? What good does proving it's yours do? I just can't imagine anybody getting arrested for taking a cache. Heck, when your car gets broken into, they take a report and that's it. Do you really expect them to do more for a cache? It is frustrating, and the thief is scum, I just don't see cache theft becoming a police priority. But hey, if you can get cops enthusiastic about arresting a cache thief, more power to you.
  12. I just checked, they are now charging $10.45 for shipping, bringing the total to $420.45 (still a good price).
  13. When I go hunting a cache, I'd like to find the actual cache that the hider placed, not some cheezy substitute, somebody decided to leave because they couldn't find the real cache. Just because you found pieces of a cache, doesn't mean you know where the cache was hidden. They may or may not have had honorable intentions, but I think roelsch should leave cache replacing to the cache owner. Just my
  14. I like that, and I always carry something to put in a cache, even though I rarely take anything. I end up (usually) leaving the item weather the cache needs it or not.
  15. they, can! also. be, removed-for/ punctuation? too- huh? I second the huh? A side note: I think it's funny how many people didn't notice the S in the thread title, and posted that the C is available, given that Geocaching is something that relies heavily on noticing the little things. (not saying that I might not have done the exact same thing).
  16. I dropped my eTrex from a cliff, when I retrieved it there were plastic shards and discrete components everywhere, I picked them up discreetly and went on my way. In you're post, your not mentioning some of the other common mistakes that a spell checker will miss. People are bound too make mistakes, I make them to. This paragraph is a example. I use ieSpell, its an great spell checker. Just my too scents. Edited to mess up spelling, so their!
  17. Yup that's true, I was trying to show how to put a link in a reply, I didn't really even think the comic was that on topic, anymore than a comic about a car. He didn't ask how to put a picture in a post, so I didn't show him.

    Black Acorn

I can vouch for Black Acorn's prompt (and polite) email response. I also get the impression that he responds to cache problems quickly, from watching other logs. I'd rather see that, than a cache hider that never responds to any questions or comments, even if they hide relly good caches. I think with some time Black Acorn will hide some great caches, (not to say his hides are bad now), and am glad to see the unarchives.
  19. The thing is that the guidelines are clearly stated and you have to check a box that certifies that you read them before you submit your cache. So the fact that someone doesn't come to the forums is no reason for them to plead ignorance. That's why I think it's amazing. Of course you should read the rules, and not coming to the forum is no excuse, was kid of my whole point. It's amazing how many people don't read the rules. Thanks to Lolita for appointing herself moderator.
