  1. The first several caches I found were out in the woods and I didn't feel weird or anything. When I started doing more urban caches I did get a little uneasy at first but I've gotten over it. I'll set up a series of caches I want to do as a bookmark list, create a pocket query, and dump it through GSAK. As I go through the caches in the field if I come up to one that may be over run by muggles or what not I'll make notes and flag that one for a come back later. As for the looking suspicious around playgrounds and parks, walk your dog if you have one. Also works in other areas to like parking lots and convenience stores. We have found this to be effective. Because single guy walking around in park might look odd, but with a dog people are more likely to disregard you because you have a reason to be there. We have pit bulls and dobermans which helps out also. They don't have the cute, cuddly, and "can I pet your dog" appeal other breeds have. People will see us but they also will give us a wide berth
  2. On the list there is an attribute for snakes and ticks. My suggestion is for adding one for fire ants. I live in Tennessee and they are pretty common around the southern US. My thought is for cachers not from this area that might step on a mound thinking that its just a dirt pile. Just a thought. Geopitbull
  3. Oh I could have went that way(after plowing through yards of undergrowth and briars)
  4. The dogs work well as cover. For me alot of times I'll take one of my pitbulls with me so people see man walking dog but not nice dog(most of my guys are big babies) so they'll give me a wide berth. Also agree with the spider thing. I worry about black widows and brown recluses, both are common in my area. Geopitbull
  5. On one of the caches I found today had a TB that wasn't logged to it. Here's the problem. The last cache it was in was outside of Lafayette, IN, The cache I found it in was just outside of Knoxville, TN. When I went to log it, it showed it as in the hands of XXXXXX(picked up 7 months ago). I logged it as grabbed from XXXXXX and made a note of where I found it in my log(Name and number of cache.) My question is should I make a note and drop it and then pick it up again at the cache I found it in to give it an anchor point here? Geopitbull
  6. I've been trying to run a cache along route PQ since last night. I tried somebodies elses route and one I made on google earth and neither would go. It will give me the search listing but not the email with the gpx. I'm new to the process but I was fairly certain I had done it right. Guess if they dont fix it soon I'll set up my run for tomorrow the hard way. Geopitbull
  7. I will say that experiance is the best help. The first cache I ever went for was a bison tube in a park near my house. It took 5 different attempts to get this one. What it took to find this one was finding another bison tube in a similar hiding spot, and then the light went on. So give it time and it will get better. Geopitbull
