Ha - I find myself doing the same things. And you're right--there are far worst addictions out there, as long as someone doesn't come out with beercaching, I think we'll all be fine.

I'm just starting out and I am addicted too. I began just using Google Earth and Mapquest and going out w/o a GPS--then I finally got an eTrex Legend and getting within 5 - 10 feet of a cache, it's a lot easier but I still have more DNF's than Finds. My wife says I am consumed by it and thinks the hobby is very strange. I'd say half the people I tell about it are intrigued and want to try it and the other half think it is weird and just look at me and say "yea, okay there..." and roll their eyes, well, it gets me out of the house and to places I never knew existed right around the corner from me.
