I am looking for a GPS that I can use on the road in my truck and off road on my 4 wheeler. Anyone have any suggestions? can any of the Nuvi series be used this way?

The screen does not need to be huge......just larger than the one on my rino 110. The GPS will be in a mount on the dash of my 4 wheeler and I want to be able to see it without constantly having to take it out of the mount. Anyone have any opinions on brands other than garmin? Lorance? Delorme?

I am looking for a GPS for use in my 4 wheeler and caching. I need something handheld, fairly large screen, with topo and street maps and it must have "tracking" or "maping" ability.....I ride in Wv and like to explore but hate not being able to back track to get home if I get lost....Oh yeah...being waterproof / water resistant would be a big plus! Waht GPS unit would some of you experts recommend?

Has anyone connected their rino 110 to a laptop via usb port? I can not seem to figure out how to do it.I have an adapter that someone has given me but the pc will not recognize the usb device. I need help!!!!!

would I need to download some special driver or something to connect my rino 110 via a usb? I have the serial to usb adapter but the pc is not recognizing the gps.

Does anyone know if one can be connected to a pc via a usb connection rather than a serial ?Im trying to hook my gps up to my laptop.

I wish I could help ya bud...I had the same problem with my rino110 every time I tried to send info to it from mapsource.I have no idea as to how I fixed it but I sat here at my pc for a half a day messing with different things and somehow got it to work. Once you figure it out you will love your garmin.I love mine!!!

I agree with the need for better descriptions ....I took my nephew with me once...he has spinal muscular atrophy and is confined to an electric wheelchair.We did one cache and it was rater 2/2...should have been rated 1/1/...was so simple my other 10 year old nephew found it without using a GPS...the next one was a 1/1.5...the terrain looked great till we got halfway across a field and he got his chair stuck in some mud.

I found their site on the net and they seemed to have really good prices on GPS units but they are taking forever to ship to me.

up in NJ this past weekend.Both were rated at 1.5-1.5 stars.The first one was EASY....my 10 year old nephew found it no problem....the second....too much mud....not handycapped accessable at all. we really need to start rating these caches as to wether or not they are wheele chair accessable.

I have the same problem with my rino 110

I think a handicapped icon would be a great idea!!!

I ohmed out the cable and the pins that are supposed to be used for data checked out ok. also the 12 volt adapter works. I am not running any kind of palm program that I know of.

I am using mapsource points of interest cd and a rino 110.i tried using the auto detect on the mapsource program but it says " not connected unable to find a garmin device" I tried the hyper terminal as instructed by tech support at garmin but still had no luck.
