Here I thought I was being original when I told my girls I was going to let them find part of their Easter presents with the GPS. They just love to go caching with us. []

Check out the pictures, they're incredible.

After reading about Blood & Guts in Virgina in the new online magazine, I got very curious about other "extreme" caches whether it be physically, mentally or both and did a search and found a few here and there in other threads like Tube Torcher and thought we should get a listing of them all in one place. Please add links to your favorites here!

What if we started putting a note with large print in the cache(maybe attached to the inside of the lid) that was like a friendly reminder to CITO ,trade up or equal, please rehide correctly etc. Do you think it would help or just be ignored?

Is there any way to fix the seal on an ammo can? I have one that leaks but I really can't figure out why, the seal looks completely intact to me. It was sitting on it's side instead of upright would this make a difference on why rain gets in or should it be waterproof no matter how it's laying?

Okay I've just go to know now too Whatever it is it must be good!

logged my cache as a found took and my TB and stated that he was going to move it but didn't log that he has my TB? This is the first time I have released a TB and this is its first move. Will the person that took it wait to log it when they place it in another cache? or should they log they have it and then also log it when they put it in another cache?

I know this is way off topic but I thought someone here might know this. Does anyone know of hardware that I can get that will scan 35mm slides into my computer to burn onto a picture DVD? Thanks

Do people usually put a stash note(description of geocaching)in a micro or just a log sheet? If so does anyone have a note small enough to put in a 35mm film canister that they can post?

is anyone else having this problem? I want to activate my new travel bug and I can;t get there

quote: I am thinking of making up some First Aid kits to be used as trade materials. They contain band-aids, neosporin packets, wipes. This is a great idea! Where do you get separate packets of neosporin?

Well I guess I was asking if there are "official guidelines" out there somewhere. I realize that experience is the best teacher however if I waited until I had found 50+ caches before I placed one I would have to find all the caches in a 60 mile radius of my home, none that are multi. The nearest multi's are 80 miles away or more in another state so I have to rely on the "wisdom of the forums" for information. I believe I found a great place to put a multi this summer but I didn't know if there were rules on distance apart and things like that.
-
I need some guidelines for hiding multi-caches. I searched the FAQ and the forum but I really didin't see what I was looking for. If there are some somewhere could you tell me where to look? If not, I'd like to hear some different ways people do this. Is it usually several micros leading to a regular? How far apart are they placed? Is there a min or max distance? What is the average amount of steps in one? Thanks

Garmin 72 or Etrex Venture
Greg&Christy replied to Greg&Christy's topic in GPS technology and devices
Does the 72 have mapping? I'm not very familiar with mapping on a GPS. When I compare the Venture, legend and 72 on the Garmin website it says that MapSource is available on all three. Is that not what I want to be looking for? Thanks for the help -
Garmin 72 or Etrex Venture
Greg&Christy replied to Greg&Christy's topic in GPS technology and devices
Thank you for the advice so far, it sounds like either way I go I'lll be pretty happy. Wish I could be as lucky as MikeK5117 and find the deals he has though -
I can get either of these for close to the same price at WalMart. They seem pretty similar except the 72 seems a little more for Marine travel but says it's good for land or water. Any opinon on which I should get? or a differnt one for about the same price $160?
