  1. Thinking about getting an Etrex H (all I can afford)... Can I download pocket queries to this reciever? Thanks!
  2. I was one of the thousands to get flooded in the June 2008 floods through Iowa. One of the several items I lost was my gpsr, a Magellan SporTrak Map with the US mapping software. Well, my wife has also been sick and out of work for about 2 months now, so my budget is VERY limited. I'd like to get another mapping gpsr, but realize that I may be restricted with my budget. Ideas?
  3. We are heading to Disney World (Fort Wilderness Lodge) in mid February this year. We'd love to grab some caches nearby or in the park. I see there may be a few virtual caches in the park... do any of you know some good ones around the area? Thanks!
  4. how about now...don't mind my blabbing, just checking if my signature works!
  5. Got it! Now, how do I add the statbar to my geocaching.com forum?
  6. dang, this is not working for me...what exactly do I have to do to get my stats on Myspace? Help!
  7. Wheeeuu....that is good help! Thank you for the guidance! Any other ideas anyone?
  8. I have my paperless setup with a Palm IIIxe, cachmate, GSAK...I'm not really all that tech savy, keep that in mind. I have it all set up on my computer because the basic directions are very easy to follow. There are two things I want to know how to do. 1) When I get additional PQs, how do I add that to my existing files? 2) When I find caches, how do I individually delete them from my file? Or, is there a better way to track them then deleting them? Thanks!
  9. Alright, time to tally up the backpacks. What brand and size (or sizes...) do you have. What do you like and not like? This will help all of us gear junkies review what bags are out there.
  10. So much publicity these days with trekking poles and testemonials like "I'll never go back to not using trekking poles" has me thinking about getting a pair. A couple of issues, one being if each hand is holding a pole, what is holding my Maggy? I understand that 4 legs, in essence, spread the energy consumption better than 2.... but on my mostly 1-2 mile hikes on usually paved and flat trails, am I going to look like a complete goof... OK, I'm a geocacher so I already look like a goof, but you know what I mean!
  11. Interested in upgrading my Maggy Sportrak Map to the Explorist 400 package. I see this "geocaching manager" in its description... what does this due? Can I download PQs to it? How does it work? Thanks! Also, while you're here, what do you think of the upgrade? Is it worth it?
  12. Which do you prefer as an all arround jacket? Is the soft shell very "short". I hate jackets that when I lift my hands, it rises above my waist, know what i mean?
  13. I currently wear a 200 wt. fleece by the north face, and have been eying geocaching.com's webstore's Rainier Fleece- 400 gr wind/water resistant. Looks nice. Does anybody have experience with it?
  14. heh heh heh...you come back from lunch an hour late, your dress shoes are caked with mud, and you the bottom 6 inches of your pants are covered in burrs....busted!
  15. I'm in the market for a light, nylon, breathable rain jacket. I like the REI Ultralight Jacket...right up to the $130 pricetag! I was at Walmart and saw Stearns had a nice lined-nylon rain jacket for $30...sounds good. What do y'all carry? Any suggestions?
