  1. ....words cannot describe the fun we had trundling around the forest at midnight in an area with no cell signals.... LAARU BRAVO (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC11XNF) GC11NXF
  2. Close enough. I'll end the pain... The trip from the very southwest of the UK mainland (grid reference SW) to the very northeast (grid reference ND) is 606 miles. Land's End to John O'Groats technically. Sadly, my realization of "general knowledge" might be skewed as I'm an import... (!!). JP - over to you!!!! (Will make sure my next - if occurs - question is closer to now-home!!!)
  3. SW and ND are British Grid references...
  4. Sorry if I'm not good at this Q: It's traditionally seen as 603 miles (<--Clue!!!) from the the very SW (in SW) to the very NE (in ND). Where are the start and end points? There is a "well known route" that is 603 miles (not kilometres...) in length. The route begins in the very southwest (in SW) and ends in the very northeast (in ND) There is a town at the start - What is it? There is a town at the end - What is it? Betterer-er? It's a puzzle I knew of before I started caching, but thinking about it, it might not be familiar. So.. hopefully the stuff underlined tells you where.. and the stuff in Red might still be a twister... but the distance should nail it. (Worried in case I'm worse at this than I expected! Sorry! Will fess up to anyone close!!)
  5. Ok.. clue... it's more "Navigational" than "Canadian" (well, coz it isn't Canadian). What is in the brackets is your "real" navigational element.. hopefully that'll make it less of a nebulous question.
  6. How is the adopt-fest going? Wondered if you've had any luck.

  8. <Edit - was told I over-answered!> Bonnechere Algonquin First Nation, based in Renfrew (Thanks to intelligent friends who know waaaay more about Canada than I would ever hope to!)
  9. I would say the my highest recommendation IS for Landsharkz; to be fair I've not "tried many others" but frankly, I've never wanted to! There are obviously other great suppliers, but for selection and customer satisfaction *in my opinion*.... Landsharkz. Even going to the website is easy! Not only have I only ever received impeccably minted geocoins, they have a large amount of Canadiana designs to chose from (which may be relevant seeing as you are asking about Canadian suppliers). Landsharkz also design and manufacture their own products; they aren't simply a "packager-and-sender". Their website has very clear pictures of their work - just take a look at their gallery and see how many geocoins they make for other people (the ones that say "Only Available From...."). If folks in the UK are getting Landsharkz to do their geocoins... it's pretty clear they are doing something well!!!!!! If you are looking for geocoins to release "into the wild" then you have the option to buy smaller geocoins in "multiples" and save a few dollars. I was thrilled to be so welcomed when I made appointment to visit "Chez Landsharkz" when I was in Victoria. I have purchased geocoins "over the border" and I've not been "hugely dissatisfied" with that approach yet (other than the mystery charges that sometimes arrive with US sourced items) .. but I've been MORE than satisfied with Landsharkz. I am not un-recommending others (I've bought some TB's from CachersToyBox in Ontario also and I've heard great things about 3geeks!) but that's where I'd start!
  10. The "Trackable Adventure Guide" that is there is already noted to have been stolen by the owner on Feb 16th. Fingerprint kits, anyone? Surely this individual realizes that Groundspeak can likely correlate their sock puppet with a real account, assuming they have one.
  11. ....the new site is very "shiny".. and I *know* that http://wap.geocaching.com has been updated for WAP browsers... but now the new code on http://www.geocaching.com won't even load on my WAP browser due to the shiny new features. I love the rich functionality of the "complete" site and it worked like a charm on my cellular WAP browser (heck, I've even listed caches with my Sony Ericsson 810i!) .. and indications if this is something I can work around, potentially with another URL? Thanks for the enhancements. Not complainin' just askin'
  12. I am flattered (and surprised) that today I found myself graced with The Geocaching Angel #159 ! I have been waiting patiently for a "mystery package" to be dropped off after another cacher was asked to be a courier from pastures far.... well, at the end of the day... Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RCA777 Waubaushene, Ontario (and Kirkland, QC!)
  13. ...2627km is my furthest FTF from Home-co-ords (GC19M4K). A business trip to Calgary - many DNFs, and I was lucky enough to twist my thinking and come up with the find. Pales in comparison to 12,000km+.. but made me happy
