  2. Well, we've had a LOT of people pre-register for the event already....! JP has ordered perfect weather again, so we are good to go.

  4. ..don't forget there are a few existing ways to "meet and greet" geocachers in your area... (without *yet another* Facebook group to keep track of!) As an example, in your immediate area are the "GTA Geofriends"... and their events! (e.g. GC216RG) A little to the north you have Central Ontario Geocachers... (http://www.centralontariogeocachers) and to your west you have Golden Horseshoe Geocaching.... (http://www.ghcaching.com)!
  5. Good man. For the record, the "Snowball" cocktail is made with one part Advocaat (Wikipedia Link) and 8 parts Lemonade. When I say "Lemonade", I mean the UK lemonade, which might be easier to explain as carbonated water with lemon... (kinda Sprite/7UP *without* the lime!). Snowball, Ontario (Wikipedia link) is *truly* a "blink and you'll miss it" little hamlet. I'm really surprised no-one tried the geocaching number game!
  6. Okay... those who know..... post
  7. I'm surprised no-one going the "Geocache Question" route... <Except Dano.. kinda..!>
  8. WHAT?!? Well, in that case I know the answer to the other question and I'm not telling. I am wondering about the liqueur involved... methinks it is more popular on the other side of the pond, over Europe way? And I never thought of that "town" as a drink before. More along the lines of "EVERYONE! WE'RE IN [townnamehere]!! Look! a store! Well, that's it, I guess." P.S. Were we allowed to research the town/drink answer? Because it took at least five queries along two different avenues to come up with the answer. Well, you certainly *do* have the answer... wonder if anyone else will get it before you post it And yes... it's an over there beverage.... (See.. it's not so hard... not like there wasn't a "***"'s chance in ****)
  9. No... you *don't* get 318... !
  10. Thanks Keith (and everyone else; just logical to "Reply" to Keith's note as it at the bottom of the thread)! Yes, Quebec and Ontario have now both been able to get a "Mega" icon within their walls! I'm sure that are few other provinces will be able to get their required attendance level as the game becomes more and more popular. GC1MGEV (Spring Fling 5) was fantastic; even if the blaze orange shirts are not slimming...!!!! Looking forward to Spring Fling 6... and beyond.
  11. Sorry for delay folks; the "forum updated" note didn't get to me. ---- TWO OPTIONS HERE! Answer to either wins! You can either answer the "GENERAL KNOWLEDGE" question OR do some Geocaching research! ---- GENERAL KNOWLEDGE Which town in Ontario shares a name with a cocktail made with egg derived liqeur? ---- RESEARCH AND FUN! If you take.. The number of the month (e.g. 1 = JAN, 2 = FEB) that the oldest active cache in BC was placed. Add to this.. The day of the month (e.g. 1, 2, 3...28...30..31) that the oldest active cache in Ontario was placed. And subtract... The number of Geocaching Mega Events that have occured in Ontario And add.. The day of the month that the oldest active Virtual Cache in Ontario was placed And add.... The difficulty rating of the most northerly active cache in Ontario.. And multiply by... The number of the month (e.g. 1 = JAN, 2 = FEB) that the first Wherigo in Canada was published. What do you get? (other than an aversion to mathematics) <Don't show your work,.. in case you goof and someone else corrects themselves!>
  12. ..perhaps the number of times an Ontario cacher's name has come thru Appeals and ended up on JI's desk?
  13. ...at the risk of repetition, but in the interest of forum accuracy... GC1MGEV (CENTRAL ONTARIO GEOCACHERS SPRING FLING 5) has been recognized by Groundspeak as a MEGA EVENT COG SPRING FLING 5
  14. Well, JP has already *won* a CacheDrone cointest... and the reference page indicates no activity and "one per person"...
  15. One I actually think I know; it's White Hill - I couldn't remember "where" that is until I read the last post - it is in the Cape Breton Highlands.
  16. Ah, Binrat has the answer! But... I can't ignore the last answer provided..... I would likely have had to concede and give it to you.. but the yellow ones aren't in the middle While we wait for Brendah.... over to you Binrat!
  17. Ontario! .. ? Let's get a tad more accurate than that.. I'll go for the nearest city if not the "place".
  18. Well, I'm not forgetting that the "thread" is still brendah's for the quizzing... in the meantime... Q: Where is the midpoint of the Transcanada Highway located?
  19. I had no idea if it was found using Google Earth, but CBC had a news item yesterday on a huge beaver dam in Alberta???
  20. Well, I work in Toronto, my house is in Montreal, I cache primarily in Central Ontario... and I'm currently in Victoria. Caching density, scenery and year round cache accessibility - Victoria. Puzzles and multis and "half the fun was getting there" - Central Ontario. Caching variety, urban escapes and "bigger than a key case" - Montreal.
  21. Well, I had sent a note to Cache-Tech to ask "what gives"... and then it occurred to me to check the forums. GSAK update time! (Nice to know Cache-Tech is still out there, though!)
  22. Joseph Armand Bombardier for the Motorized tobaggan aka a dogsled with an engine Correct! (SkiDoo/Snowmobile etc). Back to you stagunner.
  23. The "Iron Dog" owes its existence to which Canadian inventor?
  24. Well, "Winnipeg" sounds weird enough - and "Thompson" isn't weird. So, "Flin Flon" would be the last vestige of name weirdness. (Portage de la Prairie I s'pose might count). Thank Rick Mercer for me remembering the name of the place at all.
