  1. We are currently at 150 to 160 people - a few folks were not sure if they would be buying one set of plates or two. The magic number is 200. The plates would be between 01GC01 and 01GC99, 02GC01 and 02GC99. ---> After <--- the 200 are sold, the MTO allows the logo to be applied to any plate in Ontario. That would then allow anyone to add the logo to their existing plate, or to purchase a vanity plate with the logo. Adding the logo to your existing plate would be $80 ish. Getting a vanity plate is something in the range of $275... and then you'd have to pay the extra $80 for the logo.... which isn't cheap. To get a set of boring everyday licence plates is somewhere around $60. So why not replace those old rusty plates with a nice 01GCxx or 02GCxx plate, with the logo for only $30 more? I have tapped on the shoulders of a few friends to help spread the word. Groundspeak have helped out too and provided some good resources. An update email will be sent shortly -- I was waiting for the 175 firm number to be hit. http://www.driventogeocache.ca
  2. Thanks to everyone who has ordered - we only have a few left. We will soon be working on the designs for the 2012 coins.... which will be the 6th version of the COG coin...! Just need to get that whole "artwork" thing resolved... and we'll be looking for suggestions for that shortly.
  3. I don't have the time to list them individually, so I've put them on eBay (Item #180721346933) and the price *includes* shipping. (These things are heavy!) Includes 2 x 2008 Quebec Geocaching Association "OWL" in Gold 1 x 2008 Quebec Geocaching Association "OWL" in Black 1 x 2008 Quebec Geocaching Association "OWL" in Silver 1 x Rendez-vous Québec 2008 (Mega Event) - Geocacheur Geocoin in Gold 1 x Rendez-vous Québec 2008 (Mega Event) - Geocacheur Geocoin in Silver 2 x Cache Effect/Kootenay Pirates in Black 1 x Cache Effect/Kootenay Pirates in Gold 1 x 2010 LandSharkz BC Geocoin 2 x 2009 LandSharkz BC Geocoin 2 x 2008 LandSharkz BC Geocoin 2 x 2007 LandSharkz BC Geocoin 1 x 2006 LandSharkz BC Geocoin 3 x 2009 BCGA Copper 3 x 2009 BCGA Black 1 x 2008 BCGA Blue ...and a Quebec Avalanche coin, as described on eBay listing I have 90 other coins to get rid of... this might take a while...
  4. Only a few remaining! $12/ea - Gold Finish w/Red Leaf (150 were minted - 10 remain at time of writing!) $17/ea - Silver Finish w/Gold Leaf (100 were minted - 7 remain at time of writing!) (Prices include shipping to US/Canada addresses) Coupon code "READYFOR2012" will give a 10% discount at checkout until October 1st 2011.
  5. Regrettably.. they aren't real gold. Prices were based on our cost for the limited/reduced numbers being minted; the coins were originally offered as a "Set of 3", however we quickly sold out of the XLE "Silver/Silver" coin.
  6. I did... they are already getting some plates; that's a good idea! perhaps they won't notice.... <Shhhhh> Lackeys don't read forums, do they? Edit: Recv'd an e-mail; yeah - they read forums
  7. Hi there, The MTO requires us to order 200 plates up front, with sequential numbering. 01GC01 thru 01GC99 and 02GC01 thru 02GC99 We have to "buy" these plates to "Start" the program; the plates are $90 incl. shipping Once the 200 plate quota has been reached, the graphic plate will be available through the regular Service Ontario/MTO offices. Today, Ontario charges $250+ for a personalize plate (regular blue/white plate). In order to have the graphic applied to a personalized plate (AFTER the program has started with the initial 200 plates) it will be... $250 + $90.... which is getting pretty pricey! Folks who have indicated they'd like a plate with a graphic are essentially first-come/first-served with the number they get (e.g. 01GC33).. but obviously if a special request for a two digit number is made, we'll try to prioritize with no promises! 10. Doh! I've -seen- that area before and I can't remember where!!!!!!! Sigh.. clicky clicky time...!
  11. At time of writing... 75 plate "orders" have been made. That's 10 days of word-of-mouth advertising.
  12. This is one of those things that makes me smile If you have a cache that wasn't published in your "Player Account"... then simply edit the listing... change the co-ords, name, attributes, details... and re-submit for a different hide! Even if your listing did not pass review/was denied... it's still a perfectly good GC-code that the world has never seen. I've seen a lot of folks "Archive" a cache listing because they decided they wouldn't/couldn't put a cache in a certain place; they then create another listing.... there is no reason for it! It's tidier for your profile, uses one less GC code... and is actually a few less button clicks.
  13. OK.... do we give up? It looked very BC-ish.... checked around V.I.... nuttin 'yet...!
  14. What *would* be good is if Minotaur can come up with a way of sandwiching coins between two transparent/perspex/plastic sheets so people can discover the codes and enjoy the artwork. Today the trackables are in a box.. and people have to lie on the ground to read "up" through the glass shelf to get tracking codes. I didn't mind.. but a few folks send me notes asking for codes every couple of weeks!
  15. Already mailed! (COG also have a geocoin in the *current* Minotaur Maze exhibit; happy to send along a few more items!)
  16. My house (sold last year) was 500m from here.. it was *very* convenient! Filename? <snicker>
  17. Oh, I don't even need to *search* for that one!!! That's http://coord.info/GCN6RN "Steam Dredge Island" Burnaby, BC (It's also up for adoption!) Let me see what I can come up with...hmmm...
  18. Hey.. it's a starting point... (I'm sure I posted this in the COG forums? Hmmm. I had worked them all out. Doh! Time to find that .txt file!) http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=69&sortdir=desc&sort=fav = Ontario http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=48&sortdir=desc&sort=fav = Washington http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=38&sortdir=desc&sort=fav = Oregon http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=64&sortdir=desc&sort=fav = British Columbia

  21. Hello there! ...you can visit the regional Central Ontario Geocachers forums (http://www.centralontariogeocachers.com/forums) and post there! (There's also an Event in Newmarket on the 26th... come along and meet a few folks... I'm sure you'll encounter one of the many hikers!)
