generally most likely yes, but chances are that something in 3.71 is botched so that no firmware can be loaded the usual way and you have to use the special upgrade procedure included with 3.74. Thanks to all who posted the problems and solutions with the upgrade from 3.71 to 3.80. I also had the problem with the Oregon 450 ver. 3.71 getting stuck at 0% upgrade applied screen. I downloaded the 3.6 version, installed it successfully, and then successfully was able install the 3.80 successfully. I couldn't have done it without the help from this forum.

When I first tried geocaching, I couldn't find any of the three I looked for and as a result I gave up on geocaching. Awhile later, a friend's wife encouraged me to give it another try, and after I actually found one, I got hooked. What really helped me was the first Event cache I attended--I hooked up with a pair of experienced geocachers and got first-hand tutoring on what to look for. Recently I attended another geocache event and learned some more tips. Don't give up!

Thanks for your work on the PDF formats. After reading all of the postings, it appears to be an impossible task to please everyone One thing I need some help on is that I am still not getting the hints decripted in the PDF format, even if I decrypt them first. When I was on vacation and was using a MAC, the hints stayed decryped. However, back home with my PC's, they don't stay decrypted. Any solution? Terrier
