You guys are correct!...I'm hooked!....Yesterday, I spent well over 4 hours plotting out cache locations!...Now I've got to stop plotting, and start hunting!.... In response to Criminal's post about the bad weather and finding another hobby...heh heh, I'm just waiting for the weather here in Albuquerque to clear up simply because it will be much easier to introduce my wife and 3 year old to Geocaching, if they don't have to rough the weather.... Although, I did find my first cache at 10pm, in the rain and wind, and I took them with me!...In all honesty, they seemed to have as much fun as me!.... Thanks for the welcomes!...... I've already plotted out over 20 caches in my area.....Now it just a matter of the weather getting better so I can drag my wife and 3 year old out to do the "grunt" work for me!....

That explains it!.... I'll go ahead and attempt to download a map and see if it works!.... Wish me luck!...

I bought my Legend last week, and then the ExpertGPS software, Garmin MapSource TOPO and a Dell Laptop.....I've hooked up the laptop to the GPS, loaded the software and all is good!.... Question: I located a map on the Garmin MapSource TOPO software, and started to tranfer it into my Legend...A warning screen popped up stating "loading a map will erase the factory base map loaded by Garmin" (or something like that!) I decided to cancel the transfer, and ask this "question" before I proceed!.... Shouldn't I be able to download maps from the MP Topo program to exist "along side" the "America's Marine Base Map" loaded at the factory by Garmin?...

Yep!...just got it last night!....I like the aerial photo downloads!...

Thanks for the Welcome!.... Yeah, I can see where "gas" is going to be the most expensive requirement!....Although, compared to my other hobbies, this one is going to be cost effective!.... I spent over 4 hours yesterday plotting out tracks leading to the next caches on my list!...

My lovely wife purchased me an eTrex Legend for valentines day.....I puchased the ExpertGPS and Garmin TOPO software and hooked the eTrex up to my laptop...I noticed the word "Geocaching" on a GPS website, and the rest is history!...I'm hooked!... This site is OUTSTANDING!...Thanks to those who maintain and contribute to it!... I found the "Travelbug Sunport" cache over here in New Mexico...since I live less than a mile from it!... I've already mapped out 10 or more caches for the upcoming weekends!... This looks like my "new" hobby!...(besides guns and R/C trucks and planes!)
