  1. Ok, kind of a weird issue I had. I have a Garmin NUVI 255w and was driving to work when It lost signal for no real good reason. I thought it was a little odd that it took about 10 min to get sat lock again. Afterwork I was driving home and it did the exact same thing at about the same place. Now, I was not near any large buildings or obstructions. I was driving down I90 right past O'hare airport. Anyway today just to test it I put my NUVI on the dash and next to that I put my Garmin Legend up. Now on the legend you can see the sats and the signal strength of each one. On the NUVI 255w there is no screen for this. I find it odd because my wife's NUVI 350 has one. To make a long story short, as I was driving past O'hare airport again. The NUVI lost sat lock and sure enough my legend all sats went to 0. Not even gray bars like there is no lock. They just went to 0. Just before this I had probably 10 solid locks on sats. I kept driving and as soon as the Legend started to pick up sats again the NUVI came back online. I drive a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix so there is no issue with the windshield that I know of that might cause this. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

  4. That is the right cable 105mm Redleg. I got an e-mail resposnse from GPS City and ordered the cable. I should have it next week. Thanks, John
  5. I need to find a cable to connect my E-Trex Legend to my HP Ipaq 4155. I would prefer one that can power both the GPSr and the PDA through my cig lighter in my car. Any help would be appreciated. John
  6. 17' is good. On a few occasions with the e-trex legend I will get 9', but I need a clear view and plenty of satellites.
  7. I'm very happy with mine. I have been using it for a few months with no problem. I'm a newbie and it works well for me.
  8. I have to agree on the Olympus. You might want to look into their new Stylus models that are either out or out soon.
  9. The newest version of the Delorme software works very well with the legend. It is called Street Atlas 2003 and it will cost you about $45. There are cheaper alternatives but I happen to like this one.
  10. I work indoors all day and this is a great way for me to spend my weekends outdoors. I am just a beginner at this, however I plan on finding more and hiding my own. The plus side is my wife actually is interested in this, so it's a little more together time without all the complaining.
  11. I have the newest version, and it works very well with my Garmin E-trex. It should work with any gps with the NMEA interface.
