  1. May be a good idea to bring along your geo dog if you have one. This will give you many more excuses to be out on your hunts. Our Geo dog Buster Brown and Mrs.northvan usually distracts the muggles while I make the find or hide.
  2. Greetings Everyone, My wife and I along with our geo dog Buster Brown form the northvan geo team. We recently joined back in April 2007 when I bought a Garmin GPSmap 76CSx and that is when we learned about Geocaching.com. My wife doesn't visit the forums but I like to come by and Lurk around , however I been a little more braver lately and post a few comments. We are still relatively new to this awesome adventure it takes us on. Great to meet you all here! Cheers
  3. Mr.Northvan 40; Mrs.Northvan 42; Geodog Buster 2 yrs. Excellent cardio excersice for us.
  4. It's a sad situation to hear. Unfortunately, there is no totally "safe" place. Such a thing can happen any where and any time. More and more in the areas we once thought were "safe". It's a matter of doing the best you can at being prepared and always being aware. Sometimes it's still going to happen. hang tough and be thankful. It could have been worse.
  5. Sounds like a shortage of hunts in the area. Might be more appealling to create a few caches and search out new hide spots ?
  6. Our dog Buster loves to go on GEO Cache hunts with us. He's better at finding the hiding places then we are. We recently started a series called " The Bones Series" here in the North Vancouver area. We found some plastic bones at our local dollar store, large enough to place a log and a few trade items inside them. We are currently up to Bones #4 and are ready to place Bones #5 out in the field soon. So far we are getting some good reviews from the other cacher's. We prefer dog friendly parks and our dog Buster is always ready to check out a new doggy park. Don't know about training dogs to find GEO Caches but our dog know what it means when I grab the GPSr and backpack Here is our GEO Dog Buster.
  7. We've noticed a few sites where it's been handy to have a garbage bag along. It's become part of the "gear".
